Koji Morimoto. He was animation director for Akira, Kiki's Delivery Service, Macross PLus and a bunch of other older stuff. He also directed the Magnetic Rose short in the Memories collection (I really recommend it).
Also, he directed this short called Noiseman Sound Insect, which I've yet to watch, but what makes it interesting is that Yokko Kanno did the music for it. She produced the music for Cowboy Bebop too, which was excellent.
And Program is indeed done by the Bloodlust guy.

Oh God I loved Detective Story too.
I love Noir and it's got the best main character appearance of any of the shorts.
Well, like nearly the only main character appearance, but still.

Juno Reactor has all kinds of rad songs. They also did the opening track to Texhnolyze.
('Guardian Angel' (Xavier's Edit) )
Unfortunately, that's also the best thing about the show, aside from the art.

Yeah, that was just one of the things I liked about Detective Story. Not only does Trinity appear in it, she's not nearly as annoying as she is in the sequels. Of course, it helped that Carrie-Anne Moss wasn't actually playing Trinity (I'm not talking about the voice work but the actual visual portrayal which was, of course, a cartoon). I was honestly glad Trinity finally took a dive in the last film and was just wishing she would shut the fuck up during her death speech. "You've got a fucking pipe sticking out of your chest! You shouldn't get to give a 3 minute soliloquy!"

Kiefer can have Dark City.
Phone Booth was an awful, awful movie.
The sum of the parts don't equal the whole, plus Tom Waits acting is like WTF? He should keep to making brilliant music.
It also had Forest Whitaker, but he has notoriously bad taste in the projects he takes.
For every good movie he's done, there's been three bad ones.
That said: Ghost Dog.
because that movie makes me laugh
oh keanu
you crazy duder you

He was amazing, amazing in the Last King of Scotland.
Brilliant, terrifying, awe-inspiring.
I can't have enough praise for that role.
I'm not going to challenge you there.
I just hate Ben Stiller.
i've never even heard of that
Probably the greatest Canadian film ever.
As a generalization this is untrue. Some sponges are asexual and some species reproduce sexually but are typically hermaphroditic.
That looks fucking hilarious.

Event Horizon is just plain creepy.
And to that user who has the image from The Second Renaissance in his signature: thanks a lot, you've got me watching Animatrix again.

i wouldn't let him leave and forced him to watch.
I was reminded of it because its on the USA channel right now.

DO YOU SEE
I kinda lost interest towards the end of the movie, but it helped me have a little more respect for Ryan Phillippe as an actor.
It used to be The Second Renaissance, but whoever made Detective Story must love them some noir.
I've been a fan of Ryan Phillippe's since Cruel Intentions, though I've only seen him in three films. (That, Way of the Gun, and Gosford Park.)
I'm sure he'll get an acting chance to shine sooner or later.
The same man that is behind Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, i.e. brilliant.
Too bad he's not very prolific.
He was okay in Breach

Who did Beyond? I know I've seen that style somewhere before.
And Program screams Vampire Hunter D.(Bloodlust, at least)
I love World Record so hard

What was the one they had in Frequency...
