Hey guys I'm new to doing digital art I've really only worked on pencil and paints. I'm going to invest in some software to use but don't know which way to go. I got Photoshop Elements and Corel Essentials with my Wacom so I have been playing around with both of those. Which one of these full versions is most commonly used? I have seen great stuff on here so I thought this would be the place to ask.
If you're looking to get into commercial work get Photoshop, because you're going to need it anyway. If you're just using it for the hell of it, download the trial versions of Photoshop and Painter, try them both, and buy whatever you prefer using.
A lot of people find Painter easier to just start doodling with, but in the long run you might end up wanting to use Photoshop instead, in which case it would have been a good idea just to start with it.
Since you have Elements already, I'd just go with that.
