I love Combo and Reanimator in basically all their forms. I have a Karador EDH deck with reanimation combos in it!

Also, drafted what I thought was a sweet Orzhov deck tonight, but ended up going 1-2. Booo and hiss. Didn't draw Ogre Slumlord once. That guy is pretty good!.

After another (0-2) swiss draft, i realize that i am not good in this format. It also sucks when some dude dropped because then i don't get the full three games of magic.

I like drafting, it just sucks when you go against the guy who has been playing for years and knows how to draft that sweet boros aggro deck and he crushes you.

I don't have any GTC cards, so i figured drafting is the best way to start building a deck. Draft here and there, then start trading for the cards i need once i know what i want to build.

Notable rares:
-alms beast
-foil treasury thrull
-biovisionary (whooo late rare draft)
-that dimir horror guy that lets you mill whenever you cast a spell

unfortunately they almost all seem relegated to limited. Maybe start some sort of orzhov deck?

Maybe just get blind obedience, alms beasts, a few more extort spells and tons of removal for a cheap deck?

What kind of fog effects are standard? Maybe ill try to do a WGB fog extort deck. That seems dumb enough to feel good about the 10% of games it might win.

Drafted again last night, went 1-2 with my pretty sweet dimir mill strategy

Losses came to mana screw then mana flood and a guy who dropped Giant Adaphage both games we played

Drafted crap rares and prize pack contained a (drumroll please) Whispering Madness! Wah wah waaaaah

In other news after looking at the list I have decided to build the aristocrats as I have most of the pieces already. All I need is 3 more Falkenrath's and the mana base

Get yourself some Sage's Row Denizens, some Mortus Striders and some Corpse Blockades or Undercity Informers

Then get yourself some Paranoid Delusions and something unblockable

Mindgrind and Consuming Aberation are the bombs you really really want but probably won't get

I was also surprised to learn this (but yes, everything I saw on a cursory google search said that you can use as many copies of a card as you want in a booster draft).

that particular rule is outlined absolutely nowhere on the wizards mtg website as far as I can tell, none of their articles on drafting mention it, the formats page doesnt mention it, the comprehensive rules and tourney rules pages dont mention it

so I just wanted to be sure

does it extend to sealed/the rest of limited as well or just draft?

Yes in sealed and draft you can play as many copies of a card as you like

The 4-of rule doesn't participate in limited because otherwise you can't get retarded sealed pools.

Like my Golgari prerelease pool on MTGO with five Dreg Manglers.

Of note, I also had a draft a couple weeks ago with 6 Basilica Screechers. I won that draft.

You guys who are new to drafting, etc., seriously check out the videos on channelfireball.com from Luis Scott-Vargas. He is good at explaining what cards are good in what decks and when and why. He's got 4 Gatecrash drafts up, and he's only majorly punted the drafting section in one of them.

Built a pretty fun standard mill deck using Sage Row Denizens, Consuming Aberrations, and Faerie Imposters.

I have a modern mill deck that uses Halimar Excavators, Jwari Shapeshifters, Agadeem Occultists, Balustrade Spies, and Consuming Aberrations

I've never played it in a tournament but it's pretty nasty in casual play
