Adding win8 context menu option

Samir Duran DuranSamir Duran Duran Registered User regular
So I just wanna edit the windows 8 right click context menu of a .html file, so that the "edit" option appears and clicking it opens the file in notepad.

Googling around only seems to turn up helpful pages about deleting reg keys to remove context entries and it is starting to really irritate me. Please halp.

If you don't mind using a program other than notepad to edit your HTML files, then I would suggest installing Notepad++. It sets up the right click context option by default and is a much nicer environment for viewing/editing pure HTML code

if you set notepad as default using win+"associations" > settings > set your default programs, then change it back, you will at least then have the easy context option of open with > notepad, though it won't come up as 'edit'.
