but after open-world games like Saint's Row 3 with proper check pointing it's way too aggravating to spend 20 minutes in a mission only to fail over some dumb bullshit and have to replay the whole goddamn thing again
Tips for enjoying RFG:
1) Play on easy
2) The most effective weapon in the game is Truck.

i covered a car in satchel charges. fucking covered it. i was driving a mobile pile of satchel charges
then i drove to a gas station, which i also covered in satchel charges
then i turned on the super explosions and never die cheats
and i pushed the button
the next thing i knew i was high enough in the air to activate a goddamn parachute
it was beautiful
as much as I'm looking forward to it
I will straight up not buy GTA5 if it doesn't have in-mission checkpointing
fuck your chase missions Rockstar, where it is literally impossible for me to win if I hit something going down an insanely narrow alley because Nico Bellic takes 30 minutes to get back on his motorcycle

I don't know why I'm so bad at this game. I can tackle MGS2 on European Extreme and it isn't even a thing. Whereas MGS3 on Normal gives me so many problems. The lack of Soliton radar is a big part of it, as is the (stupid) decision to make you always go into first-person view when you're laying in grass
