Whew, 1 year of daily data recording added. Only 2 more years to go.

Monkey see, monkey type, monkey gain more muscle memory for the numpad than monkey has ever had before.

the pc port of tomb raider is actually pretty good

    it has a benchmark mode

    this is advanced shit, squeenix
    Yeah, is pretty good.

I played a couple of hours last night, it's much closer in mechanics to a variety of other games, and lacks the acrobatics of the previous installments, but is pretty good nonetheless.

Should've stuck with Keely though. :(

...and of course, as always, Kill Hitler.

my mind just did some really weird mental gymnastics

I was drinking a red bull at my desk because they were giving them out free yesterday and my mind went "oh shit, this tastes like a jagerbomb... you smell like you're drinking, everyone in work is going to think you're still drunk from last night but wait I wasn't even drinking last night or was I?"

    today is a write off

    going to stop trying
At that stage you might as well make it a jager.

Ah okay SimCity is released on the 7th in Europe. I didn't consider that the game has to be transported under the atlantic in the pneumatic tubes that make up the internet. That is fully logical and not a dick move.
Only a few days difference? That's pretty amazing you know... It often takes movies months to make it across the pond.
Speaking of, has Fire Emblem made it across yet? I need to know so I can get a 3ds.

There's no reason for that either. There's even less reason for a two day game launch delay.

I will get the exact same exe file as the Americans. Only two days later because fuck Europe.

I will bet one hundred dollars that they lose a couple of thousand sales to pirating every time they pull this stunt.

And yeah, Lara is now either a Witcher, an Assassin, or Batman, which is slightly weird in a few ways, but I guess everyone wants to grab that mechanic now to help players stop missing shit.

Same for movies: Lincoln premiered here close to a month ago - two months later than in the US. Despite being a highly marketable film, nobody here saw it at the cinema. After two weeks it had showings at three cinemas total. Fast and Furious still had close to 40 showings per day over a month after premiere.

That's probably because Europeans are less receptive to American history fan wanks.

The king of Sweden has been kinging for 40 years now.

He's done a good job compared to earlier kings. For example, he hasn't started one single war against Russia.

    Ah yes, shocked.

No but maybe that is a counter argument to the position that people in Europe wouldn't be interested in the film Lincoln.

Also, Swedish cinema owner monopoly dictating the rules and being completely batshit loco about which movies get to be shown where and for how long.

Those reasons are all valid reasons.

But there is also the fact that they postponed releasing it in Europe for two months. And throughout those months the film was in the top list of the pirate bay.

If you delay your film two months people are going to be seeing it any way. Regional delays do not work when information-wise everyone from California to Tel Aviv is sitting in the same exact location.

I'm playing star conflict and it is really fun

    I kicked ass this time

my ship can cloak itself for 18 seconds and the gamemode was "grab bomb, go to enemy stations and plant the bomb"

so I followed the guy who charged in and grabbed the bomb, with my cloak activated

a couple enemy ships of course converged on him and blew him up before he could reach it

and then poof out of nowhere comes me, picking up the bomb again and boosting the last 3 kilometres

On the one hand I feel I should not be a dick to someone who is cold calling me with a 'car accident compensation' scam because they're human and probably hate their job.

But on the other hand, it seems unlikely to me that they're unaware of the fact they're trying to scam me... and should be treated as such.

all i know about Lincoln is that he comes second only to George Washington in terms of elevation to messiah like status in american history

i haven't even seen Lincoln so who knows it could be a good movie, but i'd be amazed if it wasn't just two hours of innacurate history and masturbating into the star spangled banner

the other day i got cold called by some irish guy who managed to get one paragraph into his pre-prepared spiel about government funded solar energy schemes or some shite before i interuppted him with

"let me just stop you there, i'm not the home owner so it's pointless to talk to me"

and he just responded in the most crestfallen tones "oh... ok then, sorry to bother you"

guy went from cheesy sales pitch mode to sounding like i'd just told him his mother had died in a flaming car wreck

the disparity between the two was heart breaking

I just broke into a solar power sales pitch to say no as well. I always feel a little bad, but not bad enough to waste a morning.
