I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but for those that have done it before, how does the Race for the Galaxy tournament work? Are there prizes? Does it use the expansions?
Isn't the Exhibit Hall map and enormous list of booths usually out at the same time? I could have sworn they were released at the same time last year but last March was such a blur I can't recall.

I'd also appreciate details on Dominion; it looks to be different from last year. Will we have to sign up on-site in advance? (I know I'm going to be late Friday and would hate to miss it like a lot of people missed last year's)

Yes, sometimes. Stay tuned, I'm sure it will come out before PAX :P
Oh god so many damn panels I'd like to go to. I'm sure I'll miss half of them due to lines in the exhibition hall but still gotta start planning
This is why I don't play many big games at PAX, a demo will come out eventually I can play in my house or I just know I'll be buying it anyways....but if Nintendo has Animal Crossing New Leaf at their booth I'll break my own rule and line my ass up anyways!
so many panels i am looking forward to! it's interesting to see a lot of gaming & education panels popping up this year. as someone currently pursuing a masters in teaching, i am double-nerd excited.

Quoted for truth.
As I recall from years past, especially 2011, Nintendo is really good at keeping their line moving. The line was super long to check out the 3DS and I think it took all of 15 minutes to get through.
This year's panels are quite intriguing! I can't wait for the guidebook to come out so I can start obsessively planning a schedule I will ignore entirely once I actually get to the con.

Costuming, PA Q&A, & Blizzard events are all at the same time on Friday! Same goes for Irrational, & Child's Play panels on Saturday! I must meditate on these decisions...

Second that.
I'm wondering about the Minecraft tourney. Best creation? First to beat the Ender Dragon (can that even been done in two hours)?
After my first sweep on the schedule, there is 40 panels that I'm interested in and most of them are at the same time. I have two weeks to plan this... So many decisions...

I agree completely, especially pitting the big Blizzard surprise against Cliff Bleszinski. Tough choices ahead.

Ironically, if I knew what the surprise was, I'd be able to decide whether I needed to hear about it or not. Touche' Blizzard....

It looks like there's a Settlers Qualifier A scheduled, but no Qualifier B... This is most likely an oversight, right? Will the B Quali be at the same time on Saturday?
Say I want to get a decent seat for a popular panel (In this case, the DayZ developer panel) how long should I get there before it starts? I've already scheduled in two hours of wait time, but I'm not sure if that's too much or too little.
So happy to see that the Improv Initiative is coming to East. After attending its premier in Seattle, I can definitely say it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.

Two hours should be more than enough time. The busiest panel at Prime 2012 was the Gearbox presentation, and the earliest that people started arriving was around four hours (?) beforehand. Considering DayZ's popularity, I'd say two hours would land you a very decent seat.

most panels do not allow lining up for one panel until the line for the previous panel has gone into the theater, making two hours a bit much. panels in the main theater do usually have longer lines/wait times, however.
On the serious side, I am looking forward to another panel on being a Geek Parent. Even though I don't have kids, a lot of friends do, and I find the panel fascinating every year.
So, does anyone have any idea what prizes are going to be like for tourneys?
All tourney winners (and depending on the tournament, some runner ups) get sweet limited edition PAX branded diecast medals inscribed with the tournament you've won on the back.

I am going to *guess* that the Main Theater and the Phoenix Theater will be streamed. Total guess.
Awesome job. I was just putting something like this together when I found this.

Oh well, I'll see how it goes, some things are more tossable than others.
I'm sure as soon as it is, someone will post here saying so I would expect it will be released whenever the maps are released.
Edit: Exhibitors listed!
