Guys, I've been living with these second-rate out-dated (and somewhat bass-wise blown) desktop speakers for too long. I really want to get involved with fruity loops as a summer-time hobby and I'd really like everything I'm doing to sound pretty crisp, clear, and unoffensive (like it often sounds with these. That also means they need to have one of those standard audio inputs (the likes of which electric guitars have?) for my MIDI controller.
Also, I'd like them to double as PC speakers for playing music and so I want them to be super sweet for playing music with, and on somewhat of a budget.
That's a lot of requisites but maybe someone can help in one of the areas or point me to the right place? I know there are audiophiles among you that wouldn't mind chipping in a word. I'm really open to ideas here.
I bet they both sound good, but do you know of something with more than just one mini-plug input?
Something a bit like a receiver, I suppose. Do they make amps/receivers that work well with Desktops?
I'll definitely look more into the klipsch options.
"but do you know of something with more than just one mini-plug input?"
uhhh, the Z5500, have 3x 3.5" mini cable direct channel analog, SPDIF and COAX digital inputs, and 3.5 stereo mini inputs. the unit is a dolby digital and dts decoder itself.
Ah my mistake man, I think I was looking at the wrong model. Alright yeah, these are 5.1's though, I was thinking more along the lines of studio monitors/stereo speakers. I'm not much into watching movies or playing games at my place so I don't need more than two speakers. Do you know anything like that?
I guess within a $300-$450 budget.
also, I apologize if I sound like I have no idea what I'm talking about. I kinda don't.
