SO, is any of you guys 'n' gals getting StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm?

Just how excited are you to finally get to play it? I am so excited I got myself a zerg key chain, jesus!

I know global play will be disabled at the start, but maybe we can get a few games going? Remember:

EDIT3: Comprehensive list of MP changes from Wings of Liberty to Heart of the Swarm

Many of those changes are pretty big

Siege Tank
Siege Tanks no longer require an upgrade in order to enter Siege Mode.

Mutalisk
Speed increased from 3.75 to 4. Acceleration stays at 3.5.
Mutalisk health regeneration rate increased from .2734 to 1

Void Ray

Prismatic Beam
No longer charges up.

New ability: Ignite Afterburners
Speed boost that increases movement speed and acceleration to 4.25 for 8 seconds. 20 second cooldown.

because terrans just wouldn't use drops I guess!

Battlecruiser

Yamato Cannon energy cost decreased from 125 to 100.

Movement speed increased from 2.95 to 3.75.
No longer requires a Tech Lab Addon.
No longer have their anti-building grenades.

Spore Crawler
This unit no longer requires an Evolution Chamber.

Hatchery

The Evolve Burrow upgrade requirement has been moved to the Hatchery.
The Pneumatized Carapace upgrade now only requires a Hatchery.

Tons of stuff moved to the early game, probably since the new toss units would get quite annoying

Also the zerg Viper is so delicious

Blinding Cloud

Range: 9
Duration: 14s
Creates a cloud for 14 seconds that reduces attack range of all units under it to melee range.

Hope you didn't plan on keeping those siege tanks sieged!

Abduct
Range: 9

Pulls a target unit to the location of the viper.

I'll be playing this. I'd pretty much forgotten about it until recently, doesn't feel like there's been much build up for it

Blizzard really missed their original estimate of 18 months per expansion

They're kind of insanely meticulous when it comes to Starcraft.

See: Ghost, which was in development hell for 10 years before they finally threw in the towel.

I'm really looking forward to the single player, but multiplayer in this game is just so fun. I'm far from good, but vs games with a few friends against other people are so damn fun.

I like the multiplayer when I'm in my groove and can play every day and practice to the point where I don't hate myself for being awful.

Maybe I should just play team games and stop trying to be the king of e-sports when I multi.

1v1 games are so stressful for me for some reason. Team games can be hard and unforgiving, too, but I can't stand doing something bad in 1v1

terran got the hellbat and the widow mine

toss got the oracle, the tempest, and the mothership core

zerg got the swarm host and the viper

warhound got removed on account of being godawful design

if you're using the mobile one it's really simple you just have to click a button to resync

I don't think it does, their business model for this was $60 for the original game and $40 for the other two, which act as expansions.

Was planning to pick this up with the 39.99 I had in my b.net account from failing to buy Mists of Pandaria

but then about 2 months ago I got into Diablo 3 for a solid month and well

gold on the RMAH is deceptively cheap in large quantities

down to like 13 dollars now, and with Bioshock Infinite this month, Heart of the Swarm is going to have to wait. I really loved the single player of Wings of Liberty, but these days RTS games just don't psyche me up enough to put this game ahead of HoTS.

Argh what the fuck Starcraft 2

Every time I try to start the installer, I get this error:

"Failed to download information about the next patch. Please check your network connection."

followed by

"Could not install. Invalid installation options. Please try again."

I've tried deleting Program Data>Battle.net and changing my Internet Explorer options to no avail, and for some wacky ass reason the technical support forum won't even let me make a new thread on it.

I've purposely avoided unit spoilers and such so I can see it all through single player first. Also I know I'll hate having to wait for for yet another expansion for the story to finish...

the ranking system is pretty good, so even if you are bad at playing, you will find players that are at a similar skill level so the games still stay fun
