God those look like a nightmare to wear. My feet hurt just looking at them. My advice is to not wear something that someone might hurt themselves on in a crowd, cause in certain areas pax is packed, and I've had my foot accidently stepped on and vica versa. Is a bit harder to appologize if a spike catches someones shin.
You might want to try asking in the PAX East Cosplay Thread. One of the security reps for PAX looks in there and answers security questions from time to time.
Why is everyone so afraid of these shoes??! They just look like tall converse!
Is there any special reason why you want to wear these other than because they're cool? Even if security does let you in, people standing next to you could get poked and scratched and I bet that would really hurt! Its probably best to wear a different pair of awesome comfy shoes
#1 No ankle support
#2 Not a lot of cushioning - there's a lot of sole (ha!) but it's all stiff.
#3 No ventilation
The BCEC has almost entirely concrete floors, and you'll end up traversing the entire thing MANY times over the course of PAX. I probably walked the equivalent of 10-15 miles during the day at PAX, and those shoes will start to hurt after 2 or 3. Not hating on the shoes, but have a backup plan.
