Jesus, that was easily one of the worst things Rusty has ever done. Isn't that college going to want to know what happened to all those students who got eaten?

He cloned a kid murdered by a crazyass gorilla.

Rusty must have one hell of a waiver form.

Industrial accidents at the Venture compound tend not to leave a lot of evidence in the form of identifiable remains.

Or if they do, they're ant-sized and trapped in a subterranean maze.

I think we are all over looking something shocking and horrifying.

Rusty actually built a device that actually worked, for his brother (who gave him $texas for it, but still)

We don't actually know if the shield will work, exactly...I imagine Gargantua 2 is in for an unpleasant surprise, later in the season.

Eh, he got lucky that his ineptitude caused his interns to mutate to be super smart enough to complete the project. He probably would have been screwed if they hadn't had that mutation.

I would imagine JJ doesn't put any special faith in his brother and contracted him for a job that was easy to do with the current technology laying around in the compound, like with that teleporter that was 99% finished. They managed to have a gravity vortex and a weak force field right from the get go; I'd hardly call that starting from scratch.

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

He also knew about the dangerous amounts of radiation it produced so he probably knows the theory of it at least can look inside it and figure out whats going on.

How many episodes is this season? I I went to get the season pass on Google e and its only 16 bucks

    Halloween special counts as 1
    Hour premiere counts as 2
If we get an hour finale that will be another 2

So we have 5 or 6 more episodes in this season. It's not a half either they said they were going to do smaller seasons of about 10 episodes each.

So glad that Venturestein and Abomi-Nation survived the episode. Kinda random dig on Michelle Bachmann, though. Where are Jackson and Doc Hammer from again?

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

So it looks like we are focusing on Venture successes now Also, apparently Hatred's backstory is apparently going to be important.

The halloween episode does count as one but as I recall their special was contracted separately and wasn't part of the next season production-wise.

And did Dean actually fix Helper? (in that he made a technical change beneficial to Helper)

It'd be funny if Dean turns out to actually be good at super-science but hates it- but is dragged into it to fix his father's mistakes.

Dean made a technical change, the downgrade, beneficial to helper, not his father.

I kinda like how in the first episode the main cast technically failed, but they ended up succeeding because of it. Except billy, he stood up for his principles of not making a fool of himself then defeated his rival.

It's funny how they tied the "really old computers" line early on with the fact he was playing Oregon Trail later in the episode.

Sidelining Brock is great, he dominated the story way too much.

Overall mean nit just this episode.Though his dream certainly explains some things.
I know a lot of people hate him but they've done a really good job of developing him as a tragic and sympathetic character

I really liked that in this episode they showed that even though Dean doesn't really want anything to do with super science, he's apparently pretty good at it.

Maybe he'd end up liking it if Rusty wasn't pushing him to like it.

Man, this is the problem with the long breaks between seasons. I *barely* remember who Venture-stein is. Like, the name sounded familiar but it has been so long since I've seen that episode.

Side note, did anyone notice when the ships of new mutants/etc came at the end, one of them was the Human Centipede? :P

I'm going to go with either Samuel Jackson or James earl Jones.

Is this up on Amazon video yet? They had the first episode up the next day, but I cannot check at work on the status of the second. There's no way I can stay up that late to watch them as they air.

Noticing Sonny as a fellow Venturestein was one of many high points of this episode.

  • BethrynBethryn Unhappiness is Mandatory Registered User regular
It's a direct callback to the Scooby episode.

Venturestein himself was the janitor (and before that, he was the henchmen who we saw get killed by Brock from his own Pov) who kills Sonny in that episode, and you can see the two Scooby guys as well as the two clones they killed when they discovered the facility.

Also, I didn't realise that the Groovy Gang were also based on real people, which makes it all the crazier.

It's been pointed out before, but I love that Hatred is one of the most consistently well-meaning, compassionate characters on the show.

I've been enjoying Todd Alcott's write-ups of these recent episodes. He says he intends to cover the first four seasons. I hope he does.
