It's probably Not-Shaundi in the car. You know, the impostor from SR3 that acted nothing like the character in the previous game.
Actually, you know who I'd like? The chick from the movie DLC, the one with the aliens. I actually liked her personality by the end, and she was a good fit.

Yes! She was excellent, I was pleasantly surprised.
What I missed the most from SR2 from SR3, is the absolute horrible murders. I mean you didn't leave anyone in a coffin in SR3, or plunge a sword through a dude and have his enemy hear his screams.
Well that and no Charles Shaghnessy.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I liked her too!
By the point in the DLC where she gunned down the replacement actors I was thinking to myself "Well obviously this chick has to become a saint because she's getting nicely crazy and homicidal".

Yeah.. I'm expecting Oleg, Miss DeWynter (whose name escapes me), Kensie, the DLC chick, and Pierce to return as lieutenaunts. Angel might make a cameo if they can get Hulk, and then the pimp dude is going to show up at some point too but in a background role.
Huh. You know, even though it's been a year, SR3's characters didn't leave much of an imprint on my mind, obviously. I think I need to do a replay of 2, maybe in multiplayer mode.

Why does everyone on youtube comments keep saying that this game is just DLC being released as a full game? I see nobody citing any proof of this,a and that idea seems a little ridiculous, no way a DLC pack has enough content to warrant a full SR game.

Enter the dominatrix. It was confirmed to be a DLC for Saints row the third, then Ruben, when THQ was still a thing said "You know what.....lets just make this SR4"

“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
Yeah I'm having a hard time not getting excited about this.
I admit, I was a little disappointed in SR3, but I still enjoyed the game and thankfully didn't get burned by over-priced DLC (I waited until it was on sale super cheap). Still, like so many others I'm diggin' the idea of being a super-powered gangsta in a sandbox world, and with THQ out of the picture, maybe Volition will get the respect they deserve and be allowed to make another great game.
if the engine is quality, why NOT make multiple games on it? Developing a robust engine that allows for the nutty quests you want to do and allows for fun gameplay is a bit of a holy grail, bethesda made so much money off gamebryo they just optimized it and called it creation and are going to release another 4-8 games on it. I found the engine to be the 2nd most impressive thing next to boss voice acting in saints row 3, and another almost year of working with it should produce even better results.
My question here, as with most people is content. Not just the zomg super powers, but where exactly are they taking this franchise, crackdown isnt exactly a bad area, but you can only crank it up to 11 so many times before your ears burst and your world has lost all ties to reality (not good or bad, but something i like in my sandbox games). Morphing the game genre is something I would prefer to see as a new IP, but that ship has sailed.
Saints Row I played for around 60 hrs, saints row 2 was 200 hrs, saints row 3 was 90 hrs. I honestly believe Volition can pull this off, the question is were they allowed to do so? I just don't believe they were given the time nor funding to make this right. I'll have to wait until after release before I can make a decision on purchasing this (as opposed to my sr2 and sr3 pre-orders)
You guys don't even understand. I never got to play Metal Wolf Chaos. I never got to fly a giant robot with lots of guns as the President of the United States of America.
I grieved that for years, a bitter memory, tears in the rain.
Now I can do that while listening to an 80s music station.
I snapped 43 Screenshots from the trailer and added comments. Some of this info was from the trailer analysis posted earlier, and some of it is my own:
Part I: Game mechanics and non-spoilery pics
New suit and robot dance taunt
New pants
Flopping wang physics with black censor bar. This is something that Volition wanted to do for SRTT and ended up pulling it (no pun intended) at the last minute and using the SR2 mosaic. This likely means that super crazy breast bouncing is in as well that suffered the same fate.
Super powers running
Super powers running with a Flash outfit
loltrinity
Player leaping into the air getting ready to ground pound with his fist
Ground pound connects
Freeze palm blast
Freeze palm blast effect on npc
Shattering frozen npc with a punch like Subzero in Mortal Kombat
Super uppercut sends npcs flying similar to Saints Row 1 drunken punching
Super uppercut connect and sends npc flying. You can see his shoes in the top right
More super uppercut
Super kick also sends npc flying straight up
Fuck yeah! Telekinesis!
Flight
More flight
Looks like the 1920s mobster car from the SR2 DLC
Monster truck returns!
X-2 Phantom returning. Also, VR symbols on the cop car and road signs
Hard to see in the pic, but watch the trailer again for this part. Hydraulics are back!
Laser rifle
Laser rifle and Space Amazon suit from one of the outfit dlc packs
Laser pistol with scope
Looks to be the laser pistol sans scope
Guitar case machine gun from the movie Desperado. Hopefully we get a rocket launcher version as well!
Gun that inflates/expands npc's heads. Looks like super fun times. Please god let us be able to use this on our coop partner.
Fuck yeah! Mechs!
You are definitely piloting it in this part of the trailer. I really hope we can customize them too.
Part II: Story conjecture and pics
Sepia toned politics shot.
Another sepia tone pic. The house interior is a big clue that we're in the past and that there is some kind of time travel mechanic. Perhaps the aliens went back in time to make you not-President and you have to go correct it like Star Trek First Contact. Also, that looks like a custom walk animation. Custom walks may be reinstated from sr2!
I disagree with xFL1PPYx that this is whored mode. It has the same sepia filter as the time travel pics, and is likely story related instead. Something possibly with the mutated Saints Flow.
Saints Flow can fight aftermath. Once again, see the filter on it.
Looks like a boss alien. Possibly the final fight against Zinyak. Cool cape. Player slides underneath him.
Player comes up behind and uses Tai-Chi to redirect force and flip the alien. Looks very Matrix-y like the dojo training.
More fight stuff with player's legs locked around the alien's neck, likely about to flip spin him.
Fighting aliens in Kinzie's warehouse crib
Looks to be a stationary turret section
Possible cutscene that may be showing a new crib and secret service homies
Player going into (or coming out of) the VR booth. It's likely that the superpowers will be available only in VR.
Huge mutated Saints Flow can that we originally saw on the EtD news release
Speaking of potential time travel and the original EtD expansion, I vaguely recall that there was an article or something at one point that listed off some new features that were going to be in that expansion (as opposed to the same couple of paragraphs that every other article seems to have on it).
I can't find it at all right now (every Google result just has the same aforementioned paragraphs), but one of the things I seem to remember being on it was that it said you could recruit "past" homies inside the virtual reality. Now, that could have simply been referring to virtual versions of the SR3 homies as the Boss may be in there alone, but it could also have possibly referred to SR1 or SR2 homies, or characters that have died. Or you can choose to interpret it as "Homies from the Past" and you're recruiting Elvis, Abraham Lincoln, and Al Capone.

Holy shit. If they let you time travel and recruit historical figures my brain will simply explode from the awesome. Me and Genghis at the motherfucking mall, bitches.
Just heard from Steve Jaros over twitter (the head writer on the game) that the girl in the back of the car in the crossing the Delaware parody pic is not Viola.
I thought she was kind of dull, honestly. When it comes to the "cold, rational criminal businessman" archetype, I much preferred Phillipe. At least he had style.

The best part of playing Saints Row is pretending you are a god damn super villain. And now they are giving us super powers? Oh Hell yeah

Boss really is kinda tame in SR3, granted that was kinda the point of the overarching story that went nowhere because SR3 was not that well written.
on the one hand it's volition, but on the other hand it's deep silver
and even without publisher issues they still couldn't get the storytelling right in SR3
now it's like.....if they can pull this off properly with an actual cutscene budget then i am on board, but past experience has me wary

On the other other hand... SR3 with super powers. I'm down for that.

Yes I am so on board
