Buying a new chair, and monitor.

I am looking to get a new chair and monitor for my computer area at home. I am a bigger guy, 280 lbs, so I am looking for a chair that will be able to handle that for extended periods of time. The new monitor will turn into my primary monitor for gaming. The maximum combined price is $500. Thanks in advanced.

My wife just bought a chair for me from Office Depot.

They are currently having a pretty big chair sale event going on so you might want to check it out.

Finding a chair that is built for a heavier than average weight can be tough though. Odds are you might have to spend a bit extra so looking for sales might be the way to go.

I'd like to help, but I'm not sure that I know enough about what size monitor you have room for / want. As far as the office chair, I second Office Depot; although they tend not to be made to last, they are comfortable and inexpensive for what you get.

Once I realized that I needed a cloth protector for the seat, I didn't have any trouble with them. You're going to have to do a lot of sit-tests, chairs just aren't something you can order online.

If you want a really good chair, Office Depot doesn't cut it. You need to visit a real furniture store. But you'll spend nearly your entire budget on a chair.

For a big and tall chair you will use almost that whole budget on just a chair.
