Yeah, as far as I could tell you just had to spam health pressens in order to defeat the electric dudes.

Whereas in Batman, the dudes with stun batons require you to use a specific action as an opener before you can hit them safely.

Exactly. I'm fine with electric dudes as long as I'm given some way to counter them, like Batman does. In Remember Me though, using health pressen combos was basically the only way to survive them, which just made for super crappy gameplay on those parts.

Still, despite that, I loved the game overall. I would give anything for a sequel. The entire Augmented Reality mechanic was absolutely brilliant, and I really want to see more of Neo Paris.

Couldn't you just use the logic bomb on them? or cloak and takedown later?

Absolutely agree. There were some utterly fantastic ideas in the game, but the execution just wasn't quite there. On the other hand, better your reach exceed your grasp than be boring.

    Nope.

Trust me, I tried everything I could think of.

Oh really? Oh, I must have been thinking of the DDOS special. I haven't played it since launch, so the names escape me.

Damn, XBL sub expired today and the game's discount is only available for gold members. :(

Bought the soundtrack from Amazon based on y'all's recommendation and it's really good, despite me never having played the game. Makes me want to though, for sure.

Does it honor French electronic music? I need to pick this up. I'm a bad OP.

The soundtrack makes heavy use of the Philharmonia Orchestra and then cuts it all up with glitchy electronic music. It's pretty excellent.

It's one of my all-time favourite game soundtracks.

Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.

Should I play on easy or something? I don't hear much good about the combat.

The combat's fine, as soon as you realise how it works.
It seems close enough to the typical style like the Batman Arkham games, muscle memory kicks in, and you try to bounce between enemies, and counter attacks. This kills your combos, keeps your damage low, and gets your ass handed to you.
Once you get into the habit of focusing on one guy at a time, and jumping over them to dodge attacks while keeping your combo going (just press jump without a direction while you're attacking someone, and it works automatically), it clicks.
It also helps once you unlock some of the special moves, as it adds a lot more options to different enemies.

The basic problem with the combat is that it is Arkham in style, but based on fighting one dude at a time, and there is no lock in. It is pretty easy to fuck up a combo.

Not really. If you don't hold a direction once you start hitting a guy, you stay 'locked on', automatically jumping over them if you press jump. So long as you jump over the person you're attacking, you keep your combo going.

Well, I finally bought the game.

I hope it doesn't end up in my backlog :) . I still have the Stick of Truth waiting and I need to finish Dark Souls II.

I loved running around in the world for this game, and I didn't even mind the combat that much, but I got to the first memory editing thingy and stopped playing because I hated it. Is that a big part of the game?

I'm under the impression that it only shows up 4 or 5 times but I can't confirm that.

I can recall three of them. Possibly four?

Ah, cool. Maybe I will just use a guide to get through those and then keep on trucking with it. Thanks.

Decided to spend more time with the game.

It's probably me but sometimes the street art seems out of place.

I ran into one that looked a lot like King from the KoF series.

They created an excellent story (all told) and the actual world building they did was frequently great. Hopefully they can do something special with a second chance!

Apparently Square-Enix are working with them on a new title instead of the usual sad story of "Game flops, studio sold up and oblivion".

Ah, that's good. I remember posting that Capcom and them parted ways and they like restructured. It's good that they're with Squeenix and still around, but I wander what this means for the Remember Me IP (who owns it?)

So glad that more people seem to be slowly finding out about this game.

Wasn't the best ever but man did I like it.

It's a shame, because I probably never would have played it

Instead, I happened to sign up for PS+ just in time to grab this for free, knowing nothing about the game and thinking "sure, why not"

    This game deserved more attention.

And I still haven't played more than an hour of Remember Me. :D I have Ultra SF4 and FFT A2 keeping me busy.

I just came here to post that.

Life is Strange is a new IP and it's going to an episodic game. Square Enix said there will be a trailer ching out of Gamescon soon.

An episodic game? I'm down for that.

For whatever reason I'm willing to pay higher prices (as in, not wait for sales) for episodic content. I guess because staggered release makes it feel like a game that keeps on giving.

Interesting. I'll definitely check it out. I really enjoyed Remember Me (especially the soundtrack).

I assume Dontnod had to promise lower development costs to Squeenix to make it happen.
