I take the bottle from my desk draw and slam it shut. I don't bother with a glass. The comissioner is breath down my neck and it's bad for my blood pressure. My wife's been on my ass about spending more time with the kids, but she doesn't understand the demands of this job. The things I've seen. The unwelcome news I have to give to other men's wives after they take one in the line of duty. It never gets easier. The sweet taste passes my lips and burn the back of my throat - so satisfying.
With a sigh I look over the reports again. Lost four in the line of duty today. Officer Zonugal was reported as corrupt by the local media. I didn't have choice but to sign the papers to bring him in, orders from the mayor. Officers jdarksun and premium were gunned down in the line of duty. The MO for the assault on Officer jdark doesn't seem to fit with the mob. We might have a new player on the seen. That's just wonderful. After the body of Officer SaberOverEasy was discovered at the Office of the District Attorney, it now shutdown on suspicion of corruption. I new that bastard was crooked. Maybe now we can make some progress with cleaning up these streets.
One good thing has come from this whole mess - vertroue, a major syndicate runner, was found and arrested under my orders. Among her possessions upon being booked was a notebook with a single scribbling:
THE PRIZE WILL ARRIVE ON THE FORTH NIGHT
Not sure what the hell that even means, but I'm sure it's something illegal. I'll have to put in requests for additional overtime for my officers based on this evidence. I take another sip and review the notes from her questioing. Of course she didn't talk. Maybe our lab tech can find something else in her possessions and from evidence seized in the warrant.
Now just the corroner's report, reviewed by our lab tech, taken from the bodies uncovered last night:
Zombie Hero - Private Detective * was brought in for questioning by the captain from City Hall godmode - Serial Killer * snatched from the Police Precinct and fit with a pair of cement shoes
Great. An old classic. At least they used it on a rotten bastard that deserved it. Upon investigating the victim's house we found multiple bladed implements, a gruesome dungeon, and a few bodies hidden under the floor. He was the serial killer we'd been chasing for the last few months. We would still list him as one of murder charges against those mafia pricks.
I knew Zombie Hero didn't have anything to do with his partner's murder. But I couldn't have him interfering with the investigation. It's better for him to cool off in a cell now than get arrested later on charges for interfering with a police investigation. Sure, he'll be sore at me, but in the end it's for the best. I choke down the rest of my glass with a harsh cough.
Techs are understaffed so it'll take time for them to review any more evidence. I refill my drink.
I'm getting too old for this shit.

That's some dodgy logic right there. A grudge vote is nothing more than that. Considering you were responsible for day 1-ing me twice in stever's WWII phalla and the Skywind Manor phalla, I think it's a pretty legit grudge.
I'm pretty sure the mafia wouldn't kill you off to make me look bad, considering that's a pretty obvious and flimsy attempt to frame a villager.
