Font Border Sizes

Hey guys, this is more of a "Help" thing. I'm trying to emulate the Twin Peaks font for a project and currently I'm having issues with the green border size.

I can emboss the text, and create a thin green border, but it's not enough. I have the correct font and the correct colors, just the ratios are off. Any help with increasing the border size? I have access to Paint.net (a very light version of photoshop) and Open Office. I can also download any freeware necessary to finish the task. Here are some reference photos.

I can fill the font in brown, but the green still isn't wide enough.

Tips would be hot!

Thanks in advance!

    I think it's Effect > Stylize > Outlinein Paint.net but I don't have it installed so I'm not sure.

I haven't used paint.net. If it has any vector capabilities, you can simply adjust the outline.

If it doesn't, you can make two versions of Twin Peak (one green and one brown). You'd make the green version larger in scale and put the brown one on top of that.

@Derrick The problem with that is the "lower" border (the green text/outline) doesn't scale to be a 3-4 pixel outline, like I'd like. It gets close, but it's not good enough.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll see if the vector bits/stylize options work.

EDIT -- Stylize option worked flawlessly! Thanks @TychoCelchuuu

Hmm, well with some quick googling, apparently Inkscape does vector graphics and it's free.

    Good luck with your project!
