I'm reading the beta rulebook and the last errata, and am struggling with understanding the Force move power.
Here is the relevant errata:
Force Power: Move, Basic Power (pages 184-185): Replace the descriptive text of the basic power with the following: "The user may spend 1 force point to move one object of silhouette 0 that he is engaged with up to his power's maximum range. The object must be unsecured and unrestrained."
Force Power: Move (pages 184-185):Increase the range of the Move Basic Power to Short.
Then, change the Range upgrades to read the following: "Spend 1 force point to increase the maximum range at which the character can move objects by a number of range bands equal to the number of Range upgrades purchased. The Force user may activate this multiple times, increasing the range by this number each time. However, remember the Force user must still spend Force points to activate the power's actual effects."
So.... you have to be engaged with the target, but then they change the range to short? Does the range of the power mean how far away the target of your move can be? The target you are attacking with the target you are moving? Is short a reference to how far you can move the item you are moving, and the range upgrade upgrades this?
Basically, if I have the move power and 2 range upgrades, and roll 3 force points on my check, can I move a silhouette 0 object that I'm engaged with, in close range, or at short range with, a short distance investing 1 fp, medium range investing 2 fp, or long range investing 3 fp?
Or, same scenario, can I move the silhouette 0 object from short range investing 1 fp a short distance, move it from medium distance away investing 2 fp a short distance, or move it from a long distance away investing 3 fp a short distance.
OR, is it both, say an I move the silhouette 0 object from short range investing 1 fp a short distance, move it from medium distance away investing 2 fp a medium distance, or move it from a long distance away investing 3 fp a long distance.
I am completely flummoxed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
