being sick totally sucks

and I don't even mean the 'I live in the hospital now' type of sickness, I mean the shitty ass colds and flus that sneak up and hitcha like a fucking tornado and just ruins your damn day

my stupid-ass brain will sometimes think, if I'm feeling sick on a night before work, 'oh, well, if I'm sick from work at least I can get some stuff done at home', which is some bullshit, because the next day I did nothing but sleep and blow my nose

so now I'm at work today and I thought I'd shaken it, and then it kicked back in and my head rocked like a snot boxer just right-hooked me in the mucus membranes so I am in for one hell of a rough day

how're you guys feeling? you got any cold/flu stories? you home sick? whatcha doing if you're home sick? what's your preferred sick food?

mine is this awful wonton noodle soup from an asian place down the road. if I'm feeling fine I can barely stomach it, but it is manna from MSG heaven if I have a cold going on

    I haven't been bed-ridden sick in a long time. I'm not doing anything different health-wise... well, maybe I am, since I usually walk to and from school. Maybe exercise helps my health?

    and I think for some time before that

    so over a year.

    I very rarely get sick but if I do I do it hard

    Yeah, this happens to me too. Though weirdly when I had my awful cold after I had my leg surgery it went away.

    Oh man I had a proper ill last weekend. Up all night, feverish, aching. Puked everything I ate for 48 hours then slept for two days before I could eat again. It was a corker.

    Being ill sucks but there's not much better than the morning you wake up feeling well again.

    Last time I had more than just sniffles was almost exactly a year ago when I got pukey-flu as well. The first time I've thrown up from non-alcohol causes since childhood. Hopefully it's not going to now become a yearly spring thing.

    Oh yeah. When you get the flu, you beg for the worst head cold or sinus infection you have ever had instead of feeling as bad as a good day of the flu.

    The only other time in my life I felt more like a plague victim was when I had mono. Holy shit that sucked.

    I haven't had anything worse than a cold in over a decade.

    Actually one of them was really bad, I had a fever and sat on a heater vent for a couple of hours. The strange thing was, it lasted for a day then disappeared completely.

    Dunno, just hasn't happened. I've had other sicknesses, just not colds or flus.

    Yeah, when you've had an actual flu, you'll know. I will forever love my (now retired) doctor for prescribing me a "Heavy antibiotic bombardment" which not only worked, but sounds cool as hell.

    an epidemiologist I know told me some antibiotics do have an effect on some viruses. But not often, and for obvious reasons mostly doctors try to avoid doing this kind of thing.
