the sandwich, not the stomach ache followed by cramps followed by diarrhea

Look, if you're eating right, the diarrhea should make you think about how much you enjoyed that sandwich about 45 minutes ago and how much you could go for another one now that you have more room.

Something about the texture has bothered me since I was a kid. I can do the salt thing with cucumbers, but not tomatoes. But I love making some good home made marinara sauce.

Salted cucumber is legit. I used to just chomp down halved cucumbers when I was a kid.

I was the antithesis of the "EWW vegetables!" kid. I would bring packed lunches that were just cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, a little baggy of salt, and loved the shit out of it. Eating tomatos and onions like apples or raw broccoli were my favorite ways to freak people out.

Okay let me talk about video games for a sec

Just tried the Way of the Dogg demo

I really like the gameplay there, but I've never been a big fan of Snoop Dogg

But yes, please, some enterprising developer, take that system, tweak it a little bit (the timing never feels quite right) and release it with a bunch of songs

    You'll have all my money

I have a fear this will never happen, because this same exact situation happened with Britney's Dance Beat. A solid rhythm game lost under a game where one artist was the focus, and thus no one paid attention to it

The gameplay you say you really liked?

That's what Final Fantasy Theatrhythm is.

    Except way better.

    I've played Theatrhythm

And I've played Elite Beat Agents

I know it's all roughly the same but this is the first time someone's attempted it on a console and I think it could work remarkably well

And Theatrhythm has the same problem as Way of the Dogg. I like FF music! But for fuck's sake I want some real variety

I'd say the worst company right now is Konami.

Damaging goodwill with the one and only franchise you haven't ruined by removing the literal voice of the series without due notice that he had to call the company to find out what's up? Incredibly scummy, unless this is a really good Kojima troll.

2nd would be Square Enix, for everyone shouting from the rooftops what they need to do to not be terrible and yet plugging their ears to the world anyway.

    3rd is EA because EA.

4th is Nintendo for being so goddamn stupid with all things technological except for the games they make.

Is not rehiring a voice actor really as bad as all the stuff ea has done?

  • UnbreakableVowUnbreakableVow Registered User regular
I am perfectly fine with David Hayter being gone

Not giving him any notice whatsoever despite carrying the series for so long in the West is indeed a shitty thing to do. Didn't Kojima say at one point he considers the English dub of MGS the "default" dub?

I don't consider replacing Hayter the end of the world, and I think there are people out there who can do a better Snake. But leaving him twisting in the wind like that is still terrible.

That and their incredible mishandling of Silent Hill and non-existent handling of Contra, Gradius, Goemon and the many other franchises that defined the company. I loved Lords of Shadow, but the 3DS game has me less than optimistic over the sequel. And I do miss traditional Castlevania, so that's another strike against them.

Also the whole "EA because EA" line makes you sound like a GameFAQs user.

    IKknkhU.gif
  • LockedOnTargetLockedOnTarget Registered User regular
It's not like Hayter was screwed.

He wasn't promised a job and dicked out of it or something.

They just didn't contact him to hire him for the part.

That's not even close to scummy.

  • StiltsStilts Registered User regular
Besides, we don't even know for sure if Hayter wasn't hired for anything.

Everything surrounding MGSV is just straight-up weird.

I can't think of a single personal reason I should dislike EA

    So I don't

I mean fuck them for no Mirror's Edge 2

But hey, they made that game exist in the first place, good on them

Not their fault people didn't buy it

I don't really dislike them either, but I understand why people don't.

In the end of the day I don't want the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect to come up short. But as it stands, neither sound like a sure-thing. Too many loose cogs in that company that can make both games suffer as a result.

I could go on much greater detail over all the dumb shit Nintendo is doing, but by the end of the day they still somehow manage to make the most entertaining and innovative games even now.

I don't get how a company so brilliant with their software can be so pants-on-head stupid with all things hardware.

Yeah, like....some days I want to really rag on Capcom.

But two weeks later and I still can't put down Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, and have no desire to play anything else besides that game. Before that, I couldn't put down Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

    I guess it's a love/hate relationship.

They ruined Resident Evil though. I don't think that's ever going to get fixed.

An announcement of a new Pokemon game would not be something made in response to somebody's musing on Twitter. That tweet would have either been taken down or an announcement would have been scrambled by now.

what woudl they even do to fix resident evil? reboot it?

  • Professor SnugglesworthProfessor Snugglesworth Registered User regular
I still don't know why they've never made a traditional Pokemon game on consoles.

I know they have no real reason to since the series sells like hotcakes on handhelds, but....I still would like to see a Wii U Pokemon game proper.

That would be a good start.

The other would be to make it scary again.
