You know what I want in Fast 7?

I want to see Sean Boswell and Twinkie to show up.

Wikipedia lists Lucas Black as being in Fast 7, but I can't find any other sources for it and it seems to just be some wiki editor's wishful thinking at this time

Also judging from the title card, whereas the last one was Fast 5 this one should be shortened to Furious 6

Honestly, I'm rather amazed how this franchise went from being a bit of a joke

"I like my cheeseburgers a quarter pounder at a time. For those 2000 calories or more, I am free."

To what is essential the unofficial Saint Rows movie franchise.

I don't think I can label Fast and Furious as a guilty pleasure anymore. Instead, Fast and Furious is a genuine pleasure that I shouldn't be guilty of.

Yeah, I'd never really taken the movies very seriously, but I think the reason I liked this one was because it didn't seem like they were taking it too seriously either. They're definitely playing it straight, there's no "wink wink nudge nudge look how silly this is", but at the same time I think everyone on set is exactly aware of how silly it is, and is having a lot of fun as a result. And it shows.

This movie was everything that I wanted it to be and more. The entire theatre erupted when it became
Vin & Rock vs White Hulk and Shaw
    .

    I was bummed about
    Giselle and Han
. I knew it had to happen, but I was still bummed.

I don't know if my theatre didn't notice but I cracked up at Rock's contact name

Was going to see this today but a lot of people I was going with had to cancel due to prior engagements

    So, going tomorrow instead.

I just saw this tonight. It was pretty good, in a completely ridiculous and insane way. Like, all these dumb plot things kept happening and then dumb action things would happen and all you could do was just laugh and roll with it.

The Rock seemed like he didn't really give a shit this time around though, the only time I felt like he was invested was when he was trying to make out with Vin Diesel.

I also loved how earlier in the movie, Vin Diesel didn't even have a contact name - just a picture of a muscle car.

So I'm hanging out here in the theater waiting for the movie to start after getting later than everyone else, and I have to ask...

...what the hell is the point of these seats up front I am sitting in? I can't imagine watching a movie while craning my neck the whole time to be comfortable.

So does this new one have more or less the same amount of male gaze as Fast Five? Because Fast Five had a lot.

Fast Five had everything gaze. That Diesel/Rock fight was seriously the most homoerotic thing I've ever seen in a summer tentpole movie

    Isn't that still...male gaze?

Question...is "male gaze" a current hot phrase among gamers or something?

Because a few months back I barely saw the word now I see it almost everywhere.

Kind of like "immersion" or "catharsis".

You know, I used to think the F&F franchise was low brow trash... then I caught Fast 5 on Tv... so I'm now currently in a theater, waiting for Fast 6 to begin.

HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME

I saw it this afternoon - the theater was pretty dead for it being a holiday weekend, but that didn't stop a dude from yelling

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

    Right after
Dom launches himself off of his car to catch Letty after the tank flipped over.

This movie knows it's a cheeseburger and never tries to deliver anything different. Absolutely awesome.

Just got back from watching and it was pretty great.

I mean you pretty much have to suspend your belief because some of the stunts are riduculous but still great.

    Also
Obvious double agent chick was obvious.

And Tyrese and Han getting their asses kicked by that one guy along with Tyrese's line otherwise had me cracking up.

    Yeah this was me too
To the point of rolling my eyes when it occurred, because it felt like another unnecessary plot twist.

I pretty much figured it out halfway through.
The guy in prison talking about how Shaw has agents everywhere.

The woman being involved in almost every situation where they almost caught Shaw but he was just one step ahead.

    Kind of tipped me off.

    Funny thing...

Someone in the audience actually started crying(not bawling more like a light sob)
    when Giselle died.

The most audible my theater got was
Scattered applause when Vin Diesel lifted White Hulk up by his legs and The Rock did a flying punch on him

I was a part of that applause

  • EtchwartsEtchwarts Eyes Up Registered User regular
    The second most was
When people were leaving when the movie "ended", and several people who knew there was a post-credit thing more or less yelled "SIT THE FUCK DOWN"

Then there was various screaming when Jason Stathem appeared

Just got back from this, it was awesome.

    The Tank sequence was fantastic.

This series knows exactly how ridiculous it is, but its not ashamed of it.

I think my only complaint is with
Carano's betrayal. It made no sense and added nothing to the story.

    Oh, oh! Also!
    Jason-fucking-Staham!

It actually redeemed the whole thing for me.
Also you guys someone got killed by a harpoon gun in this movie

I did not care so much for 6.

Some of the dialogue was bad and no real stand out scenes for me.

ANd honestly I think the first scene with The ROck colored my feeling more then a bit
He I've got an idea for a funny bit, lets have the officer of the law abuse and torture a guy like its no big deal.

Help me raise a little cash for my transition costs
