Cool things to do in Halifax, Nova Scotia?
So this Tuesday, my brother, me, and two of his friends Justin and Kevin are taking a Carnival cruise up to Canada, leaving from Boston. Our second stop is going to be in Halifax, and we'll probably be able to be off the boat for a whole day there.
I've already set up an excursion with Kevin to take a tour of the city, but I know there are a few people here on this forum who live there, or have visited, so I figured I'd ask. Any cool things to do there, or cool sights to see? Are there any cool places to go eat? I don't know much about the city admittedly, but I hear it's a lot like Boston. I think the only place I know of there that's fairly unique is the Strange Adventures comic shop, where comic artist
Kate Leth works at, but I'm sure there are other spots. Does anybody know any other cool, interesting places in Halifax we can check out?

The Keith's Brewery tour is cool
The waterfront normally has quite a few buskers
Citadel Hill (though go during the day...otherwise you'll probably see some ladies of the night :P)
Point Pleasant Park
Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
Pier 21Museum of Immigration
Neptune Theatre
Art Gallery of NS
Province House (Provincial Government building)
Discovery Centre
Metro Centre, though not sure if anything will be going on while you're there. Halifax just won the Memorial Cup which is the Canadian Championship for farm teams for the NHL. A lot of good players come from those teams and there are a couple of real standouts from the Halifax club if you're into hockey at all.
St. Mary's Basilica
Dalhousie University
NS Sports Hall of Fame
Casino NS is on the waterfront
That's just a few off the top of my head but there is quite a bit to do. Also, Halifax is comprised of itself and 3 other smaller close communities (Dartmouth, Bedford and Sackville) All are within a few minutes drive of each other. As well, depending on time you can check out the coast or go inland or down to the south shore or south-west shore (where I am originally from). Plus there are lots of historical properties throughout the province. Hope that helps Bigbear and I'll say it early, Welcome to the Maritimes!
