[The Walking Dead] episode 5 snuck up on us and now we're undead
I thought I was just supposed to dodge left or right whenever a flashlight showed up but at a certain point even with nobody in sight it cuts to the getting shot cutscene
The place basically becomes a paranoid police camp or at least it's implied by Shel when talking with Becca. Stephanie tries to "escape" (leave the camp with some stolen supplies), and you have to choose between killing her or driving the hell away with Becca. Speaking of which, Becca becomes a much colder person if you let the thief die, though she'll wimp out if you tell her to kill Stephanie.
My ending
Russell stayed behind. I probably could have gotta him on board if I picked a different final line, but "I don't." was the proper way to end that. I can't imagine any other line, and it's especially true in the Walking Dead.
Actually, regarding Russell and your ending
He'll get on board if you mention that you might be able to find friends/family. It's also how you can get Wyatt on board as well if it didn't pan out okay.

no I was doing that too
I guess it was a bug since it stopped when I restarted

This happened to me too. I got a fail out of nowhere, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't doing anything wrong.
I would imagine that no matter what any of the individual characters chooses at the end of this DLC, they'll still have an impact in Season 2. Excluding characters from reappearing entirely based on arbitrary choices would be irritating and silly. Either their role in season 2 was never gonna be big to begin with or count on seeing all the characters who survived this DLC reappearing in Season 2 regardless.
this is one reason complaints about "false choices" in this game drive me crazy. It's not a checklist, it's a character study.
The way I always put it is that none of your choices in the Walking Dead have any impact on the world, because you can't
But you CAN have an impact on the people around you
They're still gonna do what they're gonna do, but you can try your best

Yeah, the best way to describe choice in The Walking Dead is "You can make a ripple, but you'll never make anything bigger than a wave. You are not The Hero, you are just a survivor."
I thought it was pretty good and was impressed at how well the overall story blended together even though I chose to go in a counter-clockwise order from right to left. A lot of games that break up the story still seem to be written like they expect you to go in a set order.

I ended up with
Everyone but vince and one other person, I think it was a girl, not going.
Just because I shot the "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK I LIED" white collar guy instead of the statutory rapist that didn't seem like he actually meant any harm.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I got out of the car, tried to drag the cop back but the truck showed up and... took my buddy away? Does anyone know what happened there exactly?
Also I assume that was Nate, right

In mine
The buddy panicked and took off right when I got back to the car
The opening there felt really good, really real, and supremely uncomfortable
The ending made me go "aw fuck, AW FUCK" pretty harshly too
After that is probably Wyatt, the back-and-forth in that was phenom
As to the ending
The credits playing over slideshows showing what happened as a result of what you did, man
THat was cool

So with Wolf Among Us out and the first episode of Season 2 hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I decided to play through this for the first time yesterday.
I really enjoyed it. In that way where I was faced with gut-wrenching, debilitating choices that had no right answer. So, quite a lot.
I actually enjoyed playing backstory, or origin perspectives on what I presume will be some of the supporting cast for at least some of Season 2. I think this lends weight to the a wider perspective, more of an ensemble collection even when the game is locked into the view of the principle protagonist. Knowing more about the backgrounds, the stories of the people around you could gives weight and character to the people around you. I really liked the concept, and I'm really hoping to spend more time with the people depicted in the 400 Days stories when Season 2 comes out.
Only for them to die horribly, of course.
For the record:
-Vince shot Justin (the financial conman)
-Wyatt stayed in the car and left Eddie behind
-Russell left Nate
-Bonnie .. actually, Bonnie almost always went silent. I used '...' a lot. Apparently, that counts as 'being honest'.
-Shel shot Stephanie.
Bonnie and Wyatt left with Tavia.
The characters I most connected with were Vince, Shel and Russell, however, so I'll be interested to see where that selection goes. I wouldn't necessarily be against replaying the DLC to spend more time with those characters if it becomes pertinent or at all relevant.
I liked playing with different characters, and being able to imbue them with different personalities. Don't get me wrong, I loved Lee and had a very firm idea about who he was and what motivated him, but I also had a very firm idea about who he was and therefore didn't get to play with a lot of variety of personality. Being able to be someone timid, or someone who makes poor choices knowing that they're poor... that was pretty cool.
Anyway, the TTG twitter teased more Walking Dead news later this month, so I'm crossing fingers that they announce a release date for Season 2 soon. That'd be nice.
It might be the strongest single episode of the series so-far.
Omid getting popped right off the bat followed by the year+ time jump was not entirely expected. Christa's disappearing pregnancy was very ominous as well.
I'm kind of playing Clem as being really cold and broken so far. She remembers to be a good person when the chips are down because that's what Lee would have wanted but she's also not going to cow-tow to anyone who doesn't seem to have her best interests in mind. The world is a hard place.
Just played the 400 days two nights ago to prepare for season 2
Vince shot Danny and escaped with Justin.
Wyatt got out of the car and tried to save the cop. Eddie abandoned him.
Russell hid at first, but got in the car. He later left Nate.
Bonnie didn't know why Leland was hitting on her or why Dee was so upset. Bonnie was honest with Leland.
Shel voted to let the dude go, and got whatshisface killed. Shel, realizing her mistake the first time, killed Stephanie.
I did not get the impression that the rape was statutory, like so many others have mentioned here. If you point the shotgun at Danny he will start going on about how he did bad things. He also went for the gun at least once, which looked like immediate betrayal to me.

Playing Walking Dead 400 days right now and fuuuck
I was playing as Wyatt.. or.. blond hippy guy whatever and left my friend behind. All I was trying to do was start the car so I could go get my friend! That's not what I meant to do!
Man. It's been so long since I played 400 days that I basically cross-referenced any of the new characters in S2E1 just in case they were actually responding to my choices in it.
Season 2 spoilers
I thought the episode started out kind of weak, but redeemed itself by the end. I didn't really like that they seemed to use Omid's death and the dog being super-friendly-SUPER-JERKISH KILL THE DOG as kind of cheap attempts to make me sad? I guess it just didn't feel like either of those moments was really... deserved? The despair and dread that S1 caused felt earned, just because they really built up to those moments.
Once Clem makes it to Luke and company though, I thought the episode really picked up. I really enjoyed it from there on.
I was not expecting them to take the direction they did with Clementine, but after some initial resistance I ended up really liking her as a stone-cold badass. I also feel like this season is going to emphasize the feeling of paranoia even more then season 2 did. Like, zombies were barely even an issue in this episode; whereas humans tried to fuck you up constantly.
Even the dog, which was a great and terrifying fake-out.
I feel like I'm going to play through this season much more cynically than I did in season 1.

I made some of the same choices as some of you but got way different results with who left the camp at the end

I liked the song at the end too.
I loved and played season 1.
But my question is, should I wait for all of the episodes to be collected again or play it season by season.
