Issues with Wired 360 Controller on Win7 *Resolved: Please Close, Thanks*

I just purchased a wired 360 controller for use with my Steam games. Unfortunately, when I plug in the controller, it just blinks, and is never recognized by my PC. No listing in Devices, etc.
I've tried everything I can think of up to this point, and I'm at a loss. I've removed old controller drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the (seemingly unnecessary) driver for the controller, and tried disabling all other USB input drivers to make sure there's no conflict.
Has anyone had a similar issue, or have any advice?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Turns out after some generous help from community members, the controller is borked. No thread necessary. Please shut 'er down.
