The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Everybody in the house needs to be treated, all the clothing, sheets, sofa, chairs cleaned properly.
The treatment is basically a cream containing Permethrin, that must be applied on your body for overnight effect.

I got scabies once from staying at a friend's house for about a week. His annoying little dog was the culprit. I woke up on the last day of the stay with red, itchy skin. I found some treatment at the local pharmacy that basically consisted of a small tube of clear liquid. I was a bit skeptical about such a small (About 2 ounces) bottle doing the trick. Like some sort of animal, I locked myself in the bathroom back home and sat in the bath tub. I applied small amounts on key body parts and just rubbed it all over. Within a day, everything was fine. Luckily I didn't have to treat any of my furniture. The only thing I had to clean was my clothes, which wasn't an issue as this same stuff can be applied to your daily washing machine ritual.
The bottle was pretty cheap. I wish I could remember the name. All I know is it was a clear liquid that had a slight lather to it once it was rubbed on the skin. I believe my issue was a bit more tolerable than yours, but it's something you need to take care of ASAP or move out.
Edit: Also, be prepared to smell like death. Every cream and treatment out there makes you reek of medication. It's not very inviting, but it has to be done.
In order to be effective everyone needs to use the cream at the same time as well as washing clothes, sheets, etc. You are trying to get rid of all of them and their eggs in one strike, otherwise the remnants will lay eggs and hatch and you'll have the problem all over again. This is a highly communicalbe parasite meaning even if 4 of your roomates deal with the problem, the mites from the remaining person will hatch and affect you all again. It is less expensive to treat everyone now than wait and have to treat twice.

I think your friend who is saying that some doctor told him that it's not a big deal is a blatant liar. And, frankly, a horrible human being. A basic Google search gives you Wikipedia, WebMD, the Mayo Clinic, and the CDC all saying the exact same thing - the scabies parasite is easily transmitted from person to person and treatment must be completed by everyone in the household in order for it to be effectively removed. Even if you don't trust the internet, no sane doctor would say something like, "Oh you live with other people? Don't tell them about your scabies, they don't need to do anything." If your roommate continues to push this asinine angle then just ask him outright who the doctor is and say that you will report him to the Board of Medicine and the local health department.
Honestly I'd be more concerned about making sure that you don't have the scabies when you eventually move out. Do you need to find a new place with new roommates, or are you going somewhere else like your parents'?
If your roommates are being so cavalier about this, and have been for any length of time, you need to bail or at the very least talk to your landlord. They won't like it, but tact goes out the window when parasites are involved.
#1, your Patient Zero roommate is probably either a liar, a fucktard, or both. It's highly unlikely that a doctor would actually recommend he not tell his roommates about a highly contagious parasite. Much more likely is that he misunderstood something and is just being actively ignorant at this point to keep the blame from coming back on him. Whatever, it's irrelevant now.
#2, tell your landlord immediately. He's not going to want to rent out a unit with an active parasite presence, and you owe it to him and his next tenants so they're not blindsided with it. He may have a better means of convincing your roommates to follow the treatment regimen - like withholding their security deposits to pay for professional cleaning of every damn surface in the apartment when you all move out. What's a $30 cream compared to that?
#3, if that doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you. Treat yourself, clean everything in your room, all your clothing and linens, and hunker down. Stay away from the common areas, obviously don't share towels, don't go barefoot in the bathroom, etc.
#4 Kill it with fire
#5 ignore #4
#6 you say you can't move out until September - why not? If I were in your position I'd be very seriously considering breaking my lease and getting the fuck out of dodge. There's no way I'd live with a bunch of morons who were willfully and repeatedly exposing me to fucking parasites. Find out if your landlord has any other properties/units you can move into over the summer, it sounds like you're in a college town so there are always empty units between semesters.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS
The house isn't habitable if there are untreated parasites. Since you're living there now, you have to give the landlord the chance to correct it. Contact the landlord immediately and explain that the house is infested with scabies. Figure out how long he has to fix it till you can move out.
Your roomie is an idiot and disgusting BUT you don't have to treat EVERYONE in the house, assuming you do a proper job with "your" stuff.
I got it from staying at a friends place in High School while I was living at home. I was the only one out of my family that was treated BUT the rest of the house was cleaned HARDCORE. Did I possibly touch something? Wiped down. Did I sit in something (chair, couch, anything)? Cleaned. So much bedding/towels/etc were all cleaned.
With this group of 5 and the aggravation, they're alive somewhere not on him. I'd cut and run from them ASAP if they can't deal with a literal parasite infestation.
Not to mention i feel they're showing an incredible lack of respect for my health, happiness, and general well being. Ugh this blows.
Also the health of other people, scabies can be much more severe in the elderly or people with a suppressed immune system.

My only contact with scabies was a scare from an ex while I was in the navy.
She found out she had it and thought she passed it to me, so I tried to get to medical.
At the time, I was working food service (every jr enlisted (e-1 through e-3) does this it gives the sr jr enlisted (e-4s) to flex their leadership muscles. And be dicks.) so I knew that I really need to go to medical because this thing is pretty fucking contagious.
But my supervisor kept telling me to go on my own time, which was impossible at the time (over a holiday weekend).
I finally managed to catch the duty medical corpsman after 2 days and talk to him.
I was lucky in that it was actually a reaction to the soap I was using, but my supervisor got reamed by medical and the food service chief for not letting me get checked out first time I asked because I had a potential contagion while handling food.
So basically, go to your landlord.
And if you need to move, I'm sure there are plenty of forumers in the area that can help you.

Is there literally nowhere else you can go temporarily, even if just for two weeks while you search for a new place hardcore?

If you think you have scabies you need to go to the doctor, if you have been itchy for an extended period of time you need to go to the doctor. The doctor will tell you you and your entire household need to be treated. Then you can tell your roommates what the doctor told you. "I went to the doctor and she said that... " is much more convincing than "People on an internet forum I go to told me that..." and that may be why your roommates aren't listening. Going to a doctor is free. Go to a doctor.
Finding a sublet thats not awful is tough, then moving, and moving again would suck. Also two months is a long time to crash, and in Toronto most of my friends places are pretty small.
I dunno, it's two shitty options, and that seems like a ton of work, especially since I have to find a new place soon enough.
You seriously have nowhere to go but up from what you've described. Moving does suck though.
Scabies treatment usually is recommended for members of the same household, particularly for those who have had prolonged skin-to-skin contact. All household members and other potentially exposed persons should be treated at the same time as the infested person to prevent possible reexposure and reinfestation.
If they don't believe the god damn center for disease control, there is no hope, endure as long as you must, but then cut all physical contact with these filthy people.
Also, I don't know your exact living arrangements, but you'll want to quarantine yourself and your property as much as possible. Look into getting something like this for your bed if you're going to take it with you. Treat your bed, then slip that on.
Might consider getting a second one to seal up any clothing you don't think you'll use before you move out. Don't mix clothing when doing your laundry, don't let them touch your clothing, don't touch anything they've touched if it hasn't been bleached.
And it turns out you can buy hazmat suits off Amazon.
Your roommates almost makes me slightly question the validity of your tale. I've had scabies. I know what it feels like. It's not like an annoying bug bite itch. It's not even like a sunburn itch. It's a "Oh my fucking god there is something SERIOUSLY wrong here" itch. There's no freakin' way to have this and not think anything is wrong.
The "up to two months before symptoms appear" shocks me. I got it after a weekend at a friend's house, where another guest there had scabies. Within about 2 days I was considering flaying myself for relief.
My condolences, friend, because I know first hand just how bad it fucking sucks.

If the living conditions are as bad as described, the room mates/mites might have just adapted and go "eh, just something else to put up with for cheap living."
If they don't want to get the treatment because of cost or because they have to leave it on overnight you can buy medicated shampoo for head lice over the counter and shower with that (leaving it on for a few minutes first) once a day for a few days and the scabies will clear up, maybe you can convince them to do that? that requires almost zero effort on their part.
In what manner do you think you owe them a "not awful" sublet?
Find a human who is willing to live in your horrid place at the same time as you desperately search for a way out.
I mean, you might still be trapped due to a terrible situation but your roommates are less "roommates" and more "antagonists" at the point they actively try to infect you with disease.
I would talk to your family to see if they can help you. All families are different, but if someone I care about told me that situation and I was 2.5 hours away, I would totally make a weekend of helping them out. So, don't assume that people won't help before you ask.
I was in a bad situation kind of analogous to this in college that I thought I had to rough out for a while. Looking back, that was really stupid. There were a lot of people I could have reached out to and gotten help.

Make sure that they understand exactly what's happening, using nauseating images and clips from the internet as required.

Option #2: Continue living in a house where at any time you could be reinfected by thousands of tiny insects that live beneath your skin
I fucking hate moving with the fury of a thousand suns, and yet one of these options seems decidedly less shitty than the other.
