couching the fact that you are remaking your game into a good game as opposed to a shitty game in the old game ending is rad

the fact that its basically an rpg final boss where your special final attack doesn't work is rad

the stand-ins for the all powerful player avatars just standing there dumbfounded while everything they ever did is blown up in seconds is rad

Even radder is how the NPCs in 2.0 pretty subtly admit "Yeah, things were way shittier in the old days, but thanks to that dragon almost killing us all, we got all our shit together and made the world a better place. Granted we have a crap-load of enemies to deal with now, but that's what you adventurers are for, right? Oh, and we also don't hate you anymore! Welcome!"

the extended trailer with the "realm reborn" part added on after the apocalypse part makes for a really good mmo trailer, it really makes me want to love ffxiv, i hope it delivers.
