Syndicate is a first person shooter by Starbreeze Studios, who made the great Riddick games. Syndicate is a mediocre first person shooter, according to most people. If you ask me, it's one of the best mediocre shooters ever made. It has gorgeous graphics, great gunplay, and sick Skrillex remixes.

But apparently the game is much more fun in coop. It's like Left 4 Dead or Borderlands or Payday or something. Four players do... stuff... I don't really know.

If you don't own the game, it's $20 from Origin. I'm not sure if it's worth it at that price but I can tell you I enjoyed the single player and I hope I will enjoy the multiplayer.



In fact aside from the stupid story and pointless misogyny I think the single player was pretty well done. The campaign was short and could've stood to make better use of the hacking mechanic but aside from that, the fights were neat, the guns felt good, and like I said, it is a pretty game.

dude, I literally bought a handful of extra copies of this game just so that I could force people to play it with me.

but I did it for the 360. fml.

but yeah, count me in. I'll buy a copy on PC just for coops. My general gaming time is after 6pm EST on weekdays, and any time on the weekends. Thursdays are no good though.

I've only got it on 360, and damn was shooting mans to wubwubwub fun. Still haven't finished it though, end game boss killed me so often I got bored and walked away. Doubt my MBP will run it at any decent FPS through parallels though, otherwise I'd be all up in this jazz.

Fifteen pounds might be worthwhile in all honesty. I've always being pretty interested in this game just because of the look, style and awesome wubstep re-mixes.

Also may as well check if it's cheaper on Amazon I guess too.

Look, I don't want to explain to yet another budding astronomer that Tycho has been dead for centuries and won't be playing Syndicate with them.

While I lack the time to participate in glorious co-op, I do have some friendly advice. Namely, if you're playing this game on the PC, there's a way to neutralize most of the glare issues. Bring up the console (Ctrl + Alt + ~) and enter 'xr_ppdebugflags 1024' to disable postprocessing. If the glare is a sticking point for you, it'll make a huge difference. Comparison shots in this here post.

I'm glad other people managed to enjoy this. I know Syndicate was pretty much doomed to mediocrity given the circumstances, but I snagged a copy for $20 and had a blast with it. Gunplay felt really good, I liked most of the level design, the lore pickups were interesting, and the soundtrack had plenty to offer besides dropping the bass:

Edit: Also, shotguns with exploding ammo need to be in every game ever. Even games without shotguns.
