Ah, I think I always see a cut version of that clip that doesn't show the first wall, and it's been a while since I watched the movie. Regardless though, it's still five guys to do less than what one could do in the cartoon.
slightly nsfw (not really spoilers but i'm pikapuff I'll just put everything in a spoiler tag)
I really hope that is a cameo. They have a lot of cameos in the show so I wouldn't be surprised.
What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable? ~ Mario Novak
I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
And apparently this book will finally show the initial construction of Republic City.
Pretty much all the bending was very dull. I think just about every major act of bending in the movie was very impractical and less effective than just running up and punching people.
Like that scene with Katara vs Zuko, where the fire moves so slowly that she may as well have just moved out of the way, but ends up spending an entire shot just doing her little bending dance to conjure up water at the last second.
This problem boils down to really bad action choreography. They're so hellbent on making it look cool that the have the actors spend more time doing showy poses than actually doing anything.
There was also the obvious problem of trying to imitate certain things from the show, while obviously not understanding the reason behind them. For example, Pakku trains Aang in the series, one of the first things he showed him was to control water by flowing it around him like a little stream.
In the movie Pakku just whips up a globe of water, and then rotates it around him in a circle for no real reason.
It's just one of many things about the movie that were made worse by being changed in ways that made zero sense, for no logical reason, because Shyamalan has his head so far up his ass to think that he understands the source material better than the people who wrote it.
Overall I really liked it.
spoiler for season 3
something gross happens
It was good!
I think it's so memorable because it goes for comedic escalation rather than perilous dramatic escalation.
I also liked it because it was Dragon Ball humor segment that didn't involve Toryama using perv humor. Not that I hated all the fanservice of course.
I actually would have watched a full series about Gohan in high school trying to fit in while being a genius super-powered half-alien and also being the superhero Saiyaman. At least back then. I haven't watched Dragon Ball Z in years so I can't be certain as to how well those episodes have held up.
In other news, I read The Rift. It was actually pretty good, although I'm sad how little of Uncle Iroh has been in the entire series. Seems like he gets one cameo in the first book of each story and that's it.
So...yeah. That's out there now.
(And not even episodes that would make sense, like the first four. No, they dropped, like, the middle of the season, and apparently ruined a pretty sizable number of twists and reveals. My mind is blown at the sheer incompetence of it.)
fox-bear
Given that I'm now seeing the possibility that the leak may actually go all the way up to episode TEN of Book 3...no, I'm going to say that they were just straight incompetent. Either that or someone at MundoNick has a major vendetta against the company.
(I can't confirm the extra episodes yet, BTW. I'm trying to watch places where they might mention them, but I'm also trying to avoid more spoilers then I've already been hit with. It's...not easy.)
(Also, if it is really is episodes 3-10...hoooooooly shit.)
here's the book 3 trailer
