There's absolutely nothing about this that I don't like, but I have no idea how to find more. I love the tempo (not real interested in slower stuff; he also briefly covered Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine" but that was too slow for my tastes), I love the stripped down sound of just him on his acoustic (although that's not all that important to me but I definitely like the focus on the vocals and not the accompaniment), and I really love the gravelly power of his voice.

The closest song I can think of is The Animals (maybe?), but I'm hoping for some more suggestions.

his vocal style reminds me of, like, a chris cornell or dave matthews? these aren't as upbeat but they'll have big back catalogues of acoustic stuff

I don't know if this works for you, they are so popular right now that it kind of defeats the purpose of discovering something new. BUT, I was THERE at this place and it is still amazing to see it now. And I can't help but point them out, just in case you missed them in your musical journey.

Not acoustic, but The Black Keys have the vibe you're looking for:

Great suggestions so far. When I heard the guy on AGT, I was thinking I'd be looking for more straight-up blues kinda stuff and completely blanked out on hugely blues-influence rock. But now that I'm listening to the stuff that's been posted it's pretty obvious that's exactly what I was looking for.

Big fan of Chris Cornell. His "Billy Jean" cover is one of my favorite things ever.

Big fan of Mumford & Sons. Already have some of their stuff.

I'll have to dig into The Black Keys. Just about the only thing I know from them is that video for Tighten Up. Like it but never went any further with them.

Never heard of Dispatch or Chuck Ragan, which is good because I was hoping to find stuff I didn't know existed. Their stuff that's been posted here is pretty good, and "The Boat" is freaking fantastic.

    Thanks everyone!

If you're looking for blues-influence you should try out Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. A bit of blues, a bit of southern rock, some of the songs even throw in a little gospel for good measure.

They do some good 'plugged in'

As well as some awesome acoustic
