Network Card Woes

So recently I had to replace my motherboard because it decided to die on me. I got a motherboard from my friend that is very similar to my last one. Everything was working fine until I installed drivers for my netgear wireless card. For some reason as soon as I boot and it recognizes the device my computer just locks up.

The problem is definitely the network card because when removed the computer works fine. Is there any reason other than the new motherboard that could be causing the network card to lock up the computer

YEs, the motherboard dying might have taken your NIC with it. Test it in another PC or just buy another one.
