What is the best way to extend wifi in a house?

Alot of the reviews of plug in extenders I see on newegg say they burn out in a couple months, but I'm not particularly tech savvy and don't know if I'll be able to set up a repeating wireless only router.

Having a wired set up isn't really an option and any point we can get a wired connection won't help with extending the range. We need it to go about another sixty feet. It's for Direct TV On Demand stuff and to get more use out of an iPad and smartphones. Single story house.

    Have you tried a Booster and/or an Extender ? ( former boosts the signal itself, and latter is like a piggybacker you can place in another room that'll hop the wifi and re-broadcast it)

    An Extender sounds like what you want since trying to boost to a specific area

    I use the REC10 made by Amped Wireless and it does a good job. It puts out a signal that covers a ton of area. Setup took about 2 minutes, was simple, and was clearly explained by the instructions that came with it.

    I use the plugin (powerline) adapters, and they are pretty nice. i've had mine over a year and no burnouts. I do occasionally have to reset them though. but it's just unplug, plug back in.

    Everyone says powerline adapters. I tried one and it wasn't hot, but it may have been a bad brand.

    So stay away from Belkin

    I heart my powerline adapters so much. Though, I haven't tried the wi fi ones.
