I just wanted to say that this was my first ever Pax (yes, I know, I am way behind the curve here lol) and I was blown away by how awesome the event was. It was definitely a learning experience and I hope to come next year as well for more than just one day. Being new, how do I go about staying in the loop of all the pre-registration and things of that nature for next year's festivities? I missed out on tons of opportunities for special limited edition stuff that I simply did not know about until it was too late. I guess I need to learn how to troll the forums lol. Any advice from the pro's to this noob?

Thank you in advance,
Pax On! :)

Start reading the forums 2-3 months before PAX. All the cool stuff goes into planning stages about 4-5 months early and you'll start seeing posts for signups, registrations, purchases, etc... once the coordinators have a chance to get things set up. Really popular events like the TWDT get announced late and fill up really fast.

TL;DR: Don't troll. Participate. Start 2-3 months early.

Weather was excellent... couldn't ask for a better 4 day stretch. Poured on Thursday... and back to rain on Tuesday.

I would like to thank everyone for being so wonderful to me this year. I was not planning to be in a wheelchair when I scored those tickets. Car accident changed those plans. I had so much fun though and I couldn't have asked for a better experience from the enforcers, security/staff, companies, vendors, and attendees. Enforcers/security/staff were very informative and helpful to all my needs. It was very nice to have the hour early friday for medical passes and five minutes early each day, stopped any trampling. The companies where very helpful by fitting us in so our wait was little better and helping me with my needs. Elder Scrolls, Extraction, and Wildstar fit me in almost immediately. Both Wildstar and Shadow Warrior peoples brought their game to my level. Wildstar had a plexiglass board that velcored into my wheelchair for keyboard and mouse and Shadow Warrior brought the keyboard and mouse to the chair so I could play. Legend of Zelda the picture and the new wiiu game allowed me to come back the next day and enter the front of the line after I got really sick the day before waiting to play and picture. It seemed like the gaming companies knew more about the medical passes and really wanted to let us all experience their games in the same way. Vendors would help me through their items and answer my questions. The cosplayers were awesome too and helped me get many photos with me and just stand alone. I got to experience pretty much everything I wanted to in three days. Thank you everyone that made PAX an amazing experience.

I would recommend following the main PAX (@Official_PAX) and PAX lines (@PAX_Lines) Twitter accounts as a minimum, and then add more accounts based on your interests. So if you're into Pinny Arcade trading for example, following the PA staff really helps with that.

My more general recommendation which is absolutely vital in my opinion is to rest frequently during the event. Take regular breaks every few hours to at least sit down and relax a bit at the convention centre or preferably return to your hotel room for a brief spell (lay in bed, shower, drop off merch, etc): it'll keep you far healthier and energetic throughout the weekend.

Along with rest: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. It was pretty clear on Monday that a lot of folks hadn't been drinking enough water throughout the weekend.

Super glad I had an insulated water bottle. Every time I got into a line I'd take a swig, and because it's insulated it kept water cold without sweating on my swag. Best $5.

I had a great time this pax, and I can't wait to do it again. That said, I heartily recommend a folding chair or stool. Those things are a lifesaver. Also, a portable battery for your electronics is a good idea

Just as a caveat, a stool would probably be better than a chair. Space is at a premium, after all.

I would also like to thank everyone at PAX prime this year, without all of you... My get away weekend would have been terrible. Although i planned this trip very last minute and was expecting the worst, i couldn't have asked to have met more incredible people.

In the last few months, I've had to deal with a lot of stress in my life in such little time... and such stressed warranted a getaway. Looking for a small getaway was really hard to do though, as all of my friends planned camping trips and other excursions, and they all fell flat due to poor planning. As the summer was coming to a close, i knew that i needed a weekend getaway, Pax was the answer to that question. So i bought some overpriced passes on craigslist, booked a hotel room for a single night because everything else was booked, and drove down to Seattle in hopes to have a great time.

That weekend reminded me of how amazing PAX was, and that i should come back every year.. just to hang out with all you amazing people. I have to admit that i didn't socialize a lot at first, but eventually the con got to me and I was loving every little thing happening. From the awesome people that waited with me in the lines and managed to shoot the shit with, The super friendly and kind enforcer always helping me out when i got lost or had stupid questions.... mainly about the kilts, and the people playing table top games always willing to have a new person join in on the excitement.

Everything was so brilliant and fun... i truly understand how everyone calls this whole event 'Home' and i hope that i can be back to see all of you wonderful people again next year.

Until then... i am so happy i got a picture with this thing http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac297/james_walker6/f03239bf-ab96-4b2d-ab6c-a3a0044964e5_zps0f0e33c4.jpg

I am very glad I brought my NewTrent battery pack, I was charging my cell and two of my buddies iPhones all day :)
