Armored Transport DLC features:
PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington D.C. for an epic crime spree.

The "Armored Transport DLC" is the first DLC pack for PAYDAY 2 PC and lets players take part in every heisters dream – robbing armored transports full of valuables, right in the middle of Washington D.C.

Up to four friends co-operate on the heists and as the crew progresses they have a chance to unlock an even more rewarding job – a classic train robbery. New weapons, weapon modifications, masks, patterns and materials have been added to let players continue to build and customize their own guns and gear.

KEY GAMEPLAY FEATURES
News Heists Spread Over Six Locations – Players now have two new heists that take place over six different locations. Gamers hit the armored transports downtown, in parks, underpasses, crossroads and in the harbor area of D.C. If the player is lucky, the robberies will lead to an even bigger reward –a train robbery to secure a valuable military prototype.

Three New Weapons Of Choice – Players can now enjoy three new weapons of mass heisting. For the stealth artist we have the charming Gruber Kurz pistol, Tanks will enjoy the agile Commando 553 Assault rifle and only a lunatic could love the classic Swedish K SMG. Together with over a dozen new weapon modifications, everyone will have something to play with.

Four New Masks, Patterns and Materials – Four new masks have been added to the game, themed around four very famous American presidents. Combined with the all-new American themed patterns and materials, players will be able to cook up some pretty awesome looking mask designs. Bodhi would be proud.

New Achievements, Free Community Mask and More – There are a dozen new achievements players to take care of. Those that join the Official PAYDAY 2 group on Steam will also receive another bonus item in the shape of a new hockey mask – inspired from one of the best heist flicks of all time. For those that work hard while robbing the armored transports, a curious Easter egg can be found.

About the Game

PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree.

The new CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?

Up to four friends co-operate on the hits, and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal comes a new character customization and crafting system that lets crews build and customize their own guns and gear.

Key Features
  • Rob Banks with Friends – Players must choose their crew carefully, because when the job goes down they will need the right mix of skills on their side.
  • CRIMENET – The dynamic contract database lets gamers pick and choose from available jobs by connecting with local contacts such as Vlad the Ukrainian, shady politician "The Elephant", and South American drug trafficker Hector, all with their own agenda and best interests in mind.
PAYDAY gun play and mechanics on a new level – firing weapons and zip tying civilians never felt so good.
  • Dynamic Scenarios – No heist ever plays out the same way twice. Every single scenario has random geometry or even rare events.
  • Choose Your Skills – As players progress they can invest in any of four special Skill Trees: the Mastermind, the Enforcer, the Ghost and the Technician. Each features a deep customization tree of associated skills and equipment to master, and they can be mixed and matched to create the ultimate heister.
  • More Masks than Ever – PAYDAY 2 features a completely new mask system, giving players the ability to craft their own unique mask together with a pattern and a color combination.
  • Weapons and Modifications – A brand new arsenal for the serious heister, covering everything from sniper and assault rifles to compact PDWs and SMGs. Once you've settled for a favorite, you can modify it with optics, suppressors, fore grips, reticles, barrels, frames, stocks, all of which will affect the performance of your weapon. There are also purely aesthetic enhancements - why not go for the drug lord look with polished walnut grips for your nine?
  • Play It Your Way – Each job allows for multiple approaches, such as slow and stealthy ambushes, to running in guns blazing. Hit the target any way you want, and watch as the heist unfolds accordingly.

Make sure you try it on Ukrainian Job or some other short heist so you aren't stuck with it very long.

Pff, I can loose off that many shots with my mosconi when just placing my ammo bag, never mind using it.

Speaking of shotguns, I got the ammo attachment for the Locomotive, which is super nice.

I really like the Compact-5, but I took the Locomotive on a Bridge escape and got swarmed by a bunch of FBI.

They're gonna need some more FBI guys.

  • EvmaAlsarEvmaAlsar Birmingham, EnglandRegistered User regular
Yeah, that attachment is super handy for the loco. Couple that with the technician perk that gives larger clip sizes to your guns and it gets silly.

The police stock for the loco is amazing. Cuts the recoil down like crazy. I've got mine pretty much setup.

Sharkteeth, ergo grip, laser, extra mag, side rack, and police stock. The recoil bar is like 1/4 full, if that. I'm tempted to toss a milspec sight on it to pretty much kill the recoil but that might be going to far.

I also picked up the massive silence for the 308, but I can't really see the point of it. Maybe taking roof dudes out on Rats 2?

Silenced Primaries never seemed worth it to me.

Hell, and silenced secondary seems like a waste since a good whack to the back will solve most problems and leave no chance for missed shots breaking windows.

Silenced guns are great for when there's distance between you and your target with no way to traverse that distance quickly enough to take them out up close without alerting them, or a camera, on the way. Remember, a melee strike kills a guard if they haven't been alerted, but it sometimes take 2+ strikes to kill an alerted guard. One shot to the face with a silenced pistol pretty much takes care of any guard, alerted or not, armored or not. It also lets you get better angles with dudes walking around corners and such.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

Thanks - I've gotten really lucky on mod drops so far. I've finally gotten the recoil on the AK762 down to a manageable level, so am using that primarily. I just need the slide, sight, and extended mag for the D. eagle and it'll be looking as dope as what @Imperfect is rocking.

What's kind of funny is I got all my locomotive mods after switching out of shotgunforcer. If I pick up some for the Mosco I'll probably pop back up that tree for a bit as it's heaps of fun.

They're like the resident evil films: The game's already a second grade knock off of various heisting films and plot lines, so taking that and making video out of it again just creates a second generation knock off.

I still like them, but I wouldn't describe them as good by any stretch of the imagination. They're just kinda cute.

I can't really get into the live-action web series. Not that I have an opinion whether it's bad, or good.. it's just that I can't deal with the cognitive dissonance of seeing the game world in the real world. Just doesn't compute. I've never been comfortable with *any* live-action game material. (Except for maybe Resident Evil 1 and it's classy introduction)

Does it tie in with 505's metagame for PD2? I'm getting really strong "The Ninth Gate" vibes from all their clues.

I have to imagine the final job is going to be a 7 day heist of misdirection, murder, stealing the tech needed, and then stealing plates (and if you succeed all days) a printing press from the mint.

Nah, if there's a 7 day hiest, I expect it to involve the white house

Who says it couldn't. The head of the treasures in the White house and you have to steal his briefcase while he is in a meeting to get the computer codes you need. Failure to do so within a specific time and he leaves with the documents on a flight away from DC. Failure to get the codes means you can not disarm the alarm to the vault where the printing plates are stored. BOOM White House Job!

Starting to wonder if I should drop aced fully loaded for aced iron man in the future. Being able to punch shields is nice to have at times.

Also I got the guessing game achievement twice now. (first myself and second time invited spoit and minor to get it) Think I need to see if I can't get it 3 times.

Second time I had to drill the second door open since I didn't feel like doing a respec for the upgraded ECM jammer. It got very interesting.

I swear to god, if this game screws me like it did with the random drops as it's currently doing to me with Framing Frames I'm going to lose it.

I've run the damn mission so many times (b/c frankly I love it, soooo fun) and not once have I had the opportunity of taking 9 paintings. Most I've gotten in one sweep is 8, and I've gotten 6 way too many times.

  • Albino BunnyAlbino Bunny Jackie Registered User regular
Overkill are sadistic with their achievements. A good chunk of them rely purely on lucking out and then being aware enough to do it.

I would also like to say, I love this thread title.

I dropped that reference the other day, when a random lvl 25 pubbie joined me and my friends mid-heist of a bank. We had things locked down under control (just took down the lobby, eliminated tellers), and this kid literally pulls a Waingro and pops a surrendered guard with his unsilenced rifle, alerting a passerby on the street who then proceeded to call the cops before I could reach him.

So when I started going "WTF, you just Waingro'd us!?!" no one understood the reference. So I promptly told my friends to log off and watch Heat.

I've been running this build for a while (currently modified to drop MM/Enforcer points to Ace Hardware Expert). It's mostly Ghost, with some Tech to get drill skills and the Tier 4 headshot bonus once I realized how critical that was for my M308. I wanted to be a "true" Tech in the sense that I could quickly open anything I came across, with the caveat that I not use shaped charges.

I've found that either a) my team is too impatient to stealth properly or b) with a stealth-friendly team, we usually have a Tech anyway, and the lack of MM skills really hurts. I really wish the Ghost tree were a bit more self-sufficient.

    VT09mOz.png

So both my friends have decided to go with being all stealthy and shit, so there's no need for me to walk up the ghost tree.

So I'm going with my original original plan of being a Techforcer.

I hope they understand I intend to use my skills, so there may be.....accidental occurrences that alert the police.
    They won't be accidental.
