Pretty much any of the panels with the Community Management folks went really well. I've been to a few PAXs, and have successfully never been to a Main Theater event. Never been one for lines. I did notice that a number of the "Make your _______ Group more inviting" and "Inclusion of _______ in [insert style of] games" forums tended to follow a formula of "thing+diversity=hooray!" so I wound up taking most of them off my Guidebook schedule.

All the panels I saw were good. I wouldn't consider any of them "worst", though a few could be improved.

I especially liked the localization panel and Bad Games. I thought Making of NES Games could've used a bit more historical focus, (what was workflow really like in the NES days?) but obviously it's easier on the panelist to go over his experiences and there was plenty of delicious technical info. I went to the Everything is Sexist panel and it felt more like a lecture than a discussion. Which is fine, but I would've appreciated a Q&A session. Maybe next time they can tell people upfront if it's a discussion panel or a lecture. It's possible there were other women in gaming panels that would've scratched my itch, but I only had time to go to one so I picked the one with the best name. Such is life!

How was the crafting panel? I wanted to go to that, but I decided to prioritize screwing around with friends. No regrets, but I'd like to know what happened.

That was my first panel and first PAX ever, thank you for coming and enjoying our loc panel in spite of all of the inappropriate things I talked about.

The Giantbomb panel, the beginning of it was just...incredibly great and sad. A round of applause AND standing ovation to Ryan Davis who recently passes away, and the crowd clapped for a good 5 minutes while chanting Ryan on the top of their lungs.

The CAH panel was really filled happiness and at the same time brought tears to my eyes as it was a panel partially dedicated to Ryan Davis, and they had guests sharing their favorite videos of Ryan over the years. It was fine until John Vignocchi got on stage and lost it and cried. It was just really bittersweet to see and know that Ryan is loved by many but he's no longer here with us. oh and Max Temkin provided free pizza for us after the panel. That was awesome too.

This year was the 10th year for Mega64, a milestone! That panel is always fun.
As one of the biggest Giantbomb fans out there Ryan passing effected me in a lot of ways and it really makes me happy to see that he got that kind of reactions at the panel I just wish I could have been at PAX this year (if you are ever in Vegas or Reno don't support MGM they are the reason I couldn't go and yes I am still bitter about this) But yeah I watched GB and CAH online they rocked

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade here, but as someone who went into the CAH panel expecting the crazy humor I'd been told about in years past, I ended up being fairly bored and disappointed, having waited so long to get in. I've never watched anything from Giantbomb barring one bit my boyfriend thought was hilarious and demanded I watch. I'm sure Ryan was a great guy and it was pretty touching to see that many people in support of him, but for what basically turned into a second eulogy/memorial it really started to drag. Part of it's my own fault for not really reading into the CAH panel and realizing they'd changed their focus this year, but that was just really unexpected. They did turn it around at the end but only barely.
It just felt like that could have been its own panel with a bunch of members of different panels attending (essentially what they turned theirs into) and then they could have held their usual panel at another time.

I did have a lot of fun at the Video Game Music Trivia panel though. We went on a whim and though it was a little unorganized and only went 3 rounds, it was still fun trying to play "know that tune" with a bunch of classic and not-so-classic game songs. Was glad to see it was more than just theme/advertising music, but also that they didn't get so nitty-gritty as to include sound effects. They actually had some pretty cool prizes and the setup where you actually got to choose an active gaming avatar was really cool. The fact that they kind of teetered on the family-friendly-but-sometimes-slipping line made for some funny moments, too. They also managed to make the non-contestants still feel like a part of things without making people fight over ridiculous high-price prizes. Really hope to see this expanded and better organized next year, I wanna get up there!

Well the CAH panel was normally ran by Ryan Davis and they were close friends I was super glad to see him get so much love at two panels. Ryan Davis was a great guy and you really should check out his old stuff on giantbomb

I still think about Ryan a lot, especially during Bombcasts when I wonder "What would Ryan think about this game/topic"?

The crafting panel was filmed both last year and this year. Enjoy!

I love that people record the panels, but I wish there was a way to get the audio that the PAX microphone system picks up dubbed over the video.
