Legality of Dakimakura in the UK
I'm interested in picking one of these up, my reasons are my own and I'm not interested in arguing that.
However, all the sites that sell them are from abroad, and I'm worried that almost any of them with naked characters on them could theoretically fall foul of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, and if picked up by customs could lead to be getting a criminal record or put on a sex offenders database somewhere.
Talking to people online, and googling around I can find no reference of this ever having been an issue but I wish to play it safe. Is there anything I could do here such as directly contacting customs for clarification (not sure how that would go, it seems unlikely they'd give a blanket answer - and outside that it's what, sending them links to specific items and saying is this okay?). Or is it something that I have entirely no reason to worry about. I've considered contacting the shop directly as they ship here, but again I would still be anxious that any answer they give is going to be motivated by self interest in moving product.

Under 18, or give the general impression of being under 18 even if the character is explicitly not so (and we're not talking we'll design the character to look twelve and say they're an 800 year old demon, we're talking a more straight interpretation of that).
And no it's not a concern just if they're naked.
Did you even look at the act.
Did YOU? The Act specifically deals with non-photographic representations of minors or those who could be minors. @ceres is quite rightly telling you that, if what you are looking for is a sex pillow with a child on it (and it increasingly seems as though you are), we will not help you.
And seriously, if you ARE looking for that, I would suggest some genuine soul-searching and potentially some treatment with a professional.

In fairness, I think the law may get you into trouble if they saw a sex pillow with a character on it that is considered an adult according to the source material; it seems like the judgement calls might get nebulous when we're dealing with highly stylized cartoon characters.
My advice would be to not buy / import this sort of sex toy.
If you have to question the legality of a fucking pillow (pun intended) then I think it's best not to get it.
I did. Ender has highlighted my issue nicely.
The character is never given an explicit age, but is pretty clearly intended to be in her twenties or even early thirties (Koko Hekmatyar (nsfw) if you're really interested). But given the writing of the legislation this could still technically fall under it, and that's my worry.
I'd say yes, it would fall under that.
Burn the $40, and it will be less detrimental than ordering the pillow even if it clears customs with no issues.
How does it decrease chances of sex with women? Are you assuming one who would own this sex toy would be revealing of this information to potential mates, do you know of a lot of people who discuss their sex toys with people before they've become intimate with them?
Some of my best relationships have stemmed from the discussion of my vast butt plug collection, it's a great ice breaker really.
Some people like hearing about others' sex toys. Or playing with them when they come over.
Yes people includes women.
I don't care who sexes what where within reason, and I'm pretty sure most of you screwed worse than a pillow during puberty alone. You can have your freaky sex debates wherein you pretend you're all better than each other because you do or don't fuck something in some other part of the forum.
I think the best advice here has been given, and that's that if the OP is SO concerned that the thing he wants to put his penis in might be detained at customs he should consider not spending the money, or be prepared to lose both the money and the item.
