Here comes the clusterfuck of false information clogging our dear interweb's tubes. Joystiq has some helpful advice on how not be gotten:

- Your favorite classic Sega franchise from yesteryear is not going to suddenly reappear as a Wii-exclusive title: Oh, wait....
- When in doubt, don't believe it: If the story pops up again in a week, you're probably in the clear.

[Confirmed] Mario and Sonic at the Olympics Confirmed on the basis that a prank would require a conspiracy by Nintendo, Sega and the International Olympic Comittee.

Well, fake patch notes are a given. But besides that, Warcraft 4? Lost Vikings 3? Anything besides what everyone wants? It's all open.
Of course, watch them make a huge announcement tomorrow and it turn out to be true, which will be the REAL April Fool's.
Also, I'm loving this NiGHTS stuff. It's still like a dream that it is actually true. (pun intended)

Could happen. That's where the Goblin TInker and Pandarens all came from.
Not only was it obviously totally untrue, it was also bad. I think that most images was shown two or three times.
Major difference between the two. Pandarens were in at the initial release of Frozen Throne. Th Tinker was added in a patch (just like the Firelord and Alchemist).
No, the Pandarens were announced as an April Fools joke as the '5th race' of WC3. The next year I think there was an April Fools joke about 2-headed ogres being in WoW (wasn't released at the time), and at the same time there was also the announcement that a WC3 patch would include the Goblin Tinker hero. Everyone thought that the Tinker was another part of the joke... but they were wrong! The panda hero was included, I think, just because people were clamoring for it.
Actually, the Pandaren joke went farther: they said that they would replace the Orcs in WC3 (that was before it even came out). Then the joke's popularity led them to include it as a hero in TFT.
"Super Mario Galaxy's release date is November 23rd."
"Really?"
"NO! Not really! Ha Ha! April Fools! Man, I'm so awesome for making such an awesome joke like that! You suck for believing something that stupid!"
Edit: I always thought a Stemapunk Zelda would be really cool, why must someone tear at my heart with such empty promises?
If I recall correctly, Warcraft 3 was also said to have no humans in an April Fool's press release.
