Spoiler tags in PAR comments

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it appears that spoiler tags don't work within comments on the Penny Arcade Report site. It hides the text correctly but there's no button to show the hidden text. I know that there's no formatting bar, but I assumed that manually-typed tags would still work there. I was using nested spoilers, so it's possible that could be related.

OS: Windows 7 Pro
Browsers tried: Chrome (30.0.1599.37 beta-m and Chrome 30.0.1599.47 beta-m) and Firefox (23.0.1 and 24.0)

Looking at the markup, it seems that the contents of the spoiler tags are present and hidden. The SpoilerReveal div is zero-sized and empty.

Apparently the SpoilerReveal div is normally that way. The SpoilerTitle div is supposed to contain a button of class SpoilerToggle and that is missing on PAR.
