This is weird. Scam?

I just got an "Order Confirmation" in my email from a company named Isagenix. Actually, I received two emails.

I have never heard of Isagenix Corp.

It's a total of approximately $500. The order confirmation includes the last four digits of the credit card used and an address. The address isn't mine and I don't own a credit card that end in those four digits. I double-checked my bank account...no weird activity there.

My guess is that either Isagenix mis-keyed the email address OR the person ordering this shit mistyped it. But I dunno. Should I ignore this or do something about it?

Could be an oddball phishing scam, check if links don't appear back to a domain owned by this Isagenix. I get these with Paypal - it'll show a payment confirmation with a card number I don't know but my name and address, with a more-prominent-than-usual link to dispute the charge which goes to what looks like a paypal login page with a domain like www.secure-genuine.ip.paypal.dispite.co.uk.com.kr.

Could be somebody using your email address (this might not mean the email is compromised, only that the site doesn't verify emails). Searching for Isagenix scams only turns up a lot of information about how their product itself doesn't actually do anything except cost obscene amounts of money, nothing about direct financial scams ("Cleanses your colon at the cellular level while building up your body's natural immunity to toxins with ultra nutrition not found in food.")

Could just be a wrong email address. i've had that happen to me before with someone who had an email address that was close.

but if they don't have your address or credit card info, then I wouldn't worry about at all.

Isagenix is some sort of MLM scam on top of whatever phishing may be happening.

Might've been trying to rope you into becoming a cult member. :p

Just give their email to the people trying to make your penis bigger and let those two hash it out.

My sister and parents use the isagenix diet. I think it's nutty and their products taste like chalk and ass, but they seem to think it's working for them. I doubt it's any kind of scam (above and beyond that of the MLM nature of the product). It might be some sort of bizarre advertising scheme where they email a mailing list of non-believers with this in hopes for the person to send back a "What the hell?" and then they can come back with a "Whoops, totally sorry about that! Would you like a free sample..." either that or a crazy member who is acting independently from the company trying to phish people as a quick and dirty way to climb the ladder faster.

the company may or may not be a scam, but this email most certainly is.
