The fact that after Godzilla turns himself into a magnet, he actually makes a motion as if he's pulling Mecha-Godzilla in with a rope is just so absurd. Or when he tries hitting Mecha with his atomic breath, misses, and hits Caesar instead, and does this "oh drat!" kind of thing and it's even more goofy. Or when Caesar would absorb Mecha's eye lasers into one eye, and shoot them back out the other eye? What?! WHAT?!

Well magnetism wouldn't have been all that useful before, he didn't scramble Mecha's systems or anything just pulled him back to them. Wouldn't have been so great when MG was still spitting death from every possible orifice.
Lightning works in mysterious ways. Like that time it somehow revived King Kong and gave him superpowers and he tried to shove a tree down Godzilla's throat.

On an unrelated note, I just saw the Gamera Trilogy is now on Blu-ray for like 8 bucks on Amazon. I didn't think they've ever give it a blu-ray release since the DVD boxset was discontinued years ago.
Inspired, by the trailer for this new Godzilla movie, the wife and I are going through and watching a whole lot of classic Godzilla.
It is great watching my wife watch these for the first time. She kept losing her shit laughing at the spazzy fighting in Ghidorah: the 3 Headed Monster, which I loved as a kid.
We do both agree that Space Godzilla is the absolute coolest, though.

It was not great!
But it did have the super absurd anime part where they shoot Godzilla twice with a black hole gun and then Godzilla shoots the black hole in midair with his laser breath
So that's pretty boss
Really excited for this new flick! Wish it was out sooner!
She should be on the inevitable Big Hero Six ongoing we'll get in the next few months.
Also, I came up with an idea for The Defenders that had Hank Pym leading a group of mad scientists, including Morbius and Curt Conners, doing super-science sentai adventures and fighting a lot of the old Marvel Monsters like Fin Fang Foom.

let me tell you about the time godzilla rampaged through vegas and half the issue was dedicated to a gambler trying to strike it rich at the same time
