iOSThe Wolf Among Us is Telltale's latest venture into the realm of comic books and graphics novels, this time adapting
Fables, a comic done by DC/Vertigo about creatures and characters from folklore, fairy tales and fables who have fled from their world to ours, and now reside in Fabletown, a neighbourhood in New York City. Keeping them all together is Bigby (the Big Bad Wolf), the playable character for this season. It has been stated this story is canon.
From Telltale's website:
The Wolf Among Us is a five episode series from the creators of the 2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead. Based on Fables (DC Comics/Vertigo), an award-winning comic book series, it is an often violent, mature and hard-boiled thriller where the characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real and exist in our world.
As Bigby Wolf - THE big bad wolf in human form - you will discover that the brutal, bloody murder of a Fable is just a taste of things to come, in a game series where your every decision can have enormous consequences.
Your choices matter: it’s not only WHAT you choose to do that will affect how your story plays out, but WHEN you choose to do it
A mature and gritty take on characters from fairytales, legends and folklore who have escaped into our world. These are not the characters you’d see on a little child’s lunchbox.
Play as Bigby Wolf: formerly the most feared monster among the Fables, now Sheriff of Fabletown and protector of those he used to hunt. He must restrain the beast within if he is to earn the trust of those around him.
Choose Bigby’s actions carefully. Will you approach a situation calmly or unleash your inner rage? The way you act will determine how others respond to you.
Set before the events seen in the first issue of the comics – you don’t have to know the characters or the world to play!

Episode 1 spoilers
I am really enjoying Big Bad as the protagonist, especially the way you are reminded of his savage nature by the frequent presence of a violent alternative in conversation. I never thought I would see "rip his arm off" as a dialogue choice in a game.
Overall I am entirely sold. Can't wait for the next one.
That being said, I agree with @Vic
What a start. Amazing intro to this awesome world. I never read the comics, but this game makes me want to.
JUST
HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T KNOW
But back to the game. The action events are much better designed than the stuff in the Walking Dead game, but the control stick quick time events were finicky and punished me occasionally when I didn't feel I'd actually made a mistake. I imagine the inventory must carry over between episodes, considering there's no use for 90% of the stuff you pick up (Optimistic, Bigby...) Top characters I'd love to see in future episodes: Boy Blue, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Prince Charming, and a conscious Fly Catcher. I pretty much know we'll see Bluebeard and King Cole though, so they don't need to be on the list.

Spoilers related to Fairest Volume 1
I quite liked the style, felt more comicbooky then even the Walking Dead, which fits the setting well.
Story stuff:
Also lied to the beast, didn't think it was a good idea to get involved without knowing what was up, no point letting the Beast jump to conclusions.
So major seriously do not look here unless you've read atleast the first volume of fables spoilers
No, it's confirmed to be a part of the comics' storyline, like the Walking Dead game.
I want to give special mention to the color pallet/style. After feeling the brown of Walking Dead the pastel/purple-pink hue was a fantastic change and really gave the whole thing an even better atmosphere.
Also have to mention my favorite scene:
As for choices, I seemed to fall in the early majority:
Did you tell Beast the truth about Beauty? No.
Who did you help first? Toad or Prince Lawrence? Toad. It seemed more urgent...
What happened to Prince Lawrence? ... which was the wrong choice, as it turned out.
Who did you arrest? Tweedle. I really think Woodsman was just wrong place, wrong time. Which seems to be the story of his life.
Who did you say was the prime suspect? Faith's Boss. Last person she said she was going to see before she died.
Now the crushing weight of waiting for the next episode.
End of Episode, Comics And EVERYTHING spoiler:
KI never found The Walking Dead quick reaction stuff to be very good so the fact that it has been improved in this is really great.
The jaggies for me are pretty terrible. I have aliasing turned on and I really don't remember TWD looking this bad but they are super noticeable. Everything else looks great though.
Who did you miss?
I'm missing one too. I don't know if they fill in order or if the ?s on the page are always in the same place, but it's just the last one that I'm missing.
I have:
Snow
Woodsman
Faith
Beauty
Beast
Toad
Collin
Crane
Bufkin
Fabletown
The Farm
Mundies
Glamour
Lawrence
The Tweedles
Holly
Grendel
Bluebeard
Bigby's Mercy
Best guess is the other one is if you rip the arm off, since I didn't.
Your guess is correct. I just looked it up.
The Walking Dead was listed as bi-monthly (but it ended up being more monthly at the end) and this is listed as monthly so it shouldn't be too long between installments! I can see it sticking to a one a month schedule.

This is a really strong start, and Bigby is just fantastic
Only thing is
Not that I noticed. I have a feeling that will come up in episode 2 if you took that certain person into custody.
And so did everyone else apparently
Yeah much like TWD I was pretty much in line with the group as far as choices went except for
I found myself using the no dialog option a lot more in just the first episode than I did in the whole TWD.
As to that:
But then I know Beauty's deal more than other people

Personally I quite like TellTale's episodic model, they're good at breaking the chapters at points where I want more, but got enough to be satisfied.
Probably the only developer where episodic doesn't just mean "yeeeeah, we'll release the next bit at some point honest".
But I thought the WD a bit more expensive but I ma be wrong.
Walking Dead was supposed to be released monthly, as well.
Not that I would know, I guess, since I didn't keep up with it
The 'on the next episode' coda is the real masterstroke because it builds a connection with the next instalment. It was so massively effective in The Walking Dead episodes.
