So I built up the 97 civic. 552hp with FWD. I have to keep it in 4th gear from 60mph and up (4th goes to 120) otherwise I can't get grip... with race tires... Its a boatload of fun though.
Then I realized, where the heck is the fiat abarth?! So I built one of those up. I swapped in the rally motor and AWD. Maxed out everything. Comes to 686pi? Therabouts, just short of 700. But holy cow. We should make a mini series out of that car. Its like a little hill climb beast. Short wheel base + AWD + gobs of horsepower, it is just a hoot to drive around. I'm playing with them on tuesday's lobby
Also, more people should buy trials fusion so eclibull and I aren't so lonely...
Fiat was too new (it was just 90's cars).
Hopefully I'll get something up for the next SBC this week since I won't be here next week. The former plans have been derailed by a difference of opinions Michel and I are having on what constitutes "fun" for a full series. I'll at least get some options posted tomorrow and then a list by Wednesday, barring anything coming up.
Gasp.

Thanks for reading that more closely than I did, Knight. Got a nice chuckle out of the highlight.
What that video didn't show was that when he pulled into the pits he overshot the pit stall a little and left the car in gear when he got out. It took them a while to get the car backed up so they could refuel. Also, before he got into the car they were in 2nd, when he got out they were ~25th.
Okay! These are going to be pretty basic since I don't have much time this week to work on them. That said, Options:
a - B500. 2000-2009. Street Sport tires. No Width Upgrades, No Aero.
Michel's idea, going with the debated idea of "Uncontrollable is fun" (which I counter with how much "fun" it was to race around his fucking car on Thursday during the 6 restarts). I think the list would be C class cars (not trucks) in those years. Not my idea of fun, but whatever, if people want to run this, there's a slow Subaru in there that I can at least mildly enjoy.
EDIT: It'd be this list:
2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
2005 BMW M3
2003 BMW M5 E39
2000 BMW Z8
2002 Chevrolet Camaro 35th Anniversary SS
2005 Dodge SRT4 ACR
2009 Ford Focus RS
2007 Ford Shelby GT500
2000 Ford SVT Cobra R
2005 Honda NSX-R
2009 Honda S2000 CR
2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
2003 Nissan Fairlady Z
2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34)
2000 Nissan Sylvia Spec-R
2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Ram Air
2003 Renault Sport Clio V6
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
2003 Volkswagen Golf R32 If we include B:
2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
2008 Aston Martin DBS
2006 Audi RS 4
2008 BMW M3 E92
2002 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06
2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello
2008 Ferrari California
2009 Lexus IS F
2002 Lotus Esprit V8
b - The aborted attempt at the Rally series. B class, AWD swap available (with a +15 PI boost if taken to balance). This would be the list:
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale
1983 Audi Sport Quaatro
1973 BMW 2002 Turbo
1984 Ferrari GTO
1977 Ford Escort RS 1800
1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale
1982 Lancia 037 Stradale
1971 Lotus Elan Spirit
1965 Mini Cooper S
1970 Nissan Datsun 510
1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R
1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16
1980 Renault 5 Turbo
c - In (a slightly saner version of) the spirit of the miniseries we're currently doing, D-Class to B-Class. The list of D class non-trucks is a bit too long to post and needs some restrictions/trimming (along with an exhibition night to catch any imbalances), but it'd be the same idea. Get the car to B any way possible. Probably just run Rollcage and Race Tires as mandatory, everything else allowed.
d - Something other than B. All three options are B class, but I'm open to it if people want a different/faster/slower class. Option c could even be moved around. C-to-A, B-to-S if we're feeling suicidal, hell, could move the year and price restrictions around/remove them from the D-to-A list we're doing now and just do a full series of that since it seems to give a lot of options on how to build your cars.
Opinions/preferences/objections/ideas are requiredneededbegged for welcome.
Decisions can be discussed tonight and I'll get a thing written up tomorrow.
Okay, clarification on option a. It'd be Sport Tires, not Street (which are more agreeable, personally). And for the idea behind it (in a voice less biased against the idea, aka Not Me):
"The idea behind this is that you're not letting the game do the work for you. You have to sit down and tune the suspension and tires to be driveable and not rely on the physics engine to do all of the hard work."
I like B (biased) and C (I could run the uberfiat or uber-mini!).
A is ok, but I'd rather not mix street cars with supercars. Cars that have high PI's to begin with are typically sport/super cars whose inherent suspension design is taken into account in forza. They handle better than anything you can upgrade a street car to be, but I do like the idea of a run-whatcha-brung series.

I feel like A is a lot less 'not controllable' than it's being given credit for, but maybe that's because I'm "that guy". In any case, I'm fine with it. C is also okay as it's just different. B and D are a bit 'meh' for me, although B is partially because I can't be bothered to do much in the rally vein, and partially because it feels like we're lacking good tracks for it.
I'm liking the A idea but with width upgrades, drop the "If we include B" section.
I also think a series of hatchback/sedans on the lighter end of things (FWD or RWD) in C or B class, no engine or drivetrain upgrades could be fun. Go for more of a touring car setup.
We just need to make sure the list or cars are all close to each other before upgrades to insure a good balance.

Whelp, I caved and will soon be one of you. Was able to snag a xbone and forza 5 on the cheap (although sadly they have to be delivered). I love me some Forza although I am a little unsure about 5. What do I need to know! Also is there a season pass again or VIP or whatever? worth it? etc

All cars MUST include the following: Race Roll Cage, Sport Tires
The following upgrades are NOT allowed: Adjustable Aero
1 Mandatory Pit per-race, to be taken on any lap outside of the 1st or last laps (unless the race lap count is under 10, at which point the pit is available on the 1st lap).
PI will be adjusted on a weekly, per driver basis. Car choices are locked after the first non-exhibition race without group permissions/special situations.
Schedule: Start Time: 9pm Eastern, starting Thursday, May 15th (please try to arrive early for smoothest possible start) Exhibition- May 15th Exhibition will not be worth points in the standings. PI will be adjusted following it. TBA
Note, that in a change from the original option, tire width upgrades will be allowed (just so that no one is happy, huzzah to compromise!) and D class cars from 2000-2009 have been added as available options. OP will be updated with this later today. Schedule will be drawn up at the end of next week after I get back in town.
DTM M3 is cool though. Even if not as cool as the E92 M3 GT2.
Love poking on the official forums after these come out and reading how much whining there is that every car isn't new to Forza. Delicious complaining.

Some of them are certainly forgettable. I wouldn't care if the V12 Zagato wasn't there, and I really don't think much of the DBR1 either. Cars like that we don't tend to do a whole lot with, you know?
The pack overall does very little for me. This is a damn shame, because that Alfa is cool, but GOD DAMN that RX-3.
acidlacedpenguinInstitutionalizedSafe in jail.Registered Userregular
and typically the RX-3 is the only thing that interests me from the pack. I guess kindasorta the Alfa too, but that's from the "I do cocaine" phase of Alfa development.
Shrug, we could just do more of these open ended D to whatever classes with less year restrictions, because the DBR1 and all the race cars from that era are usually a blast to drive while also looking incredible.
I built a silvia and fell in love. Drives wonderfully. Its built to B600... and it looks like that was your intention. So I will be driving the silvia in the upcoming series.

Yeah, I was in a rush when I wrote everything up and couldn't remember the PI# for the top of B. I was also out of town with limited net and just made it home, it is fixed in the OP.
hokay. We raced some cars yesterday. They were close. It was fun. Then we decided to all buy a car in the lobby, and auto-upgrade it in the lobby and race the results. It was pretty entertaining

Cannot verify. 8C was too good at actually driving.
I'm going to draw up the schedule later today tomorrow (once I figure what tracks to use as Exhibition).
Looking at the timing though, the final week will probably something like:
Week 4 - June 12th
Race ? - Spa or something - Laps: TBD
Final Race - ??? - Laps: TBD - Because IBolieve, 2 of you got that one...'burlieve, because it sort rhymes with oh forget it...believe!
Alright, got the line up figured out. Race 10 track selection is obviously dependent if Knight/Our hopes and dreams end up right about E3/'ring GP timing.

PI will be adjusted following it. Exhibition RACE 1: Long Beach East - Laps: 16 Exhibition RACE 2: Circuit de Catalunya National Circuit - Laps: 8 Exhibition RACE 3: Bernese Alps Festival Reverse - Laps: 8 Week 1: May 22 RACE 1: Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit - Laps: TBD RACE 2: Mount Panorama Circuit (Bathurst) - Laps: TBD RACE 3: Road Atlanta Full - Laps: TBD Week 2: May 29 RACE 4: Indianapolis Grand Prix - Laps: TBD RACE 5: Road America Full - Laps: TBD Week 3: June 5th RACE 6: Long Beach Full - Laps: TBD RACE 7: Le Mans La Sarthe - Laps: TBD RACE 8: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - Laps: TBD Week 4: June 12th RACE 9: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps - Laps: TBD RACE 10: ??? - Laps: TBD

Note, that in a change from the original option, tire width upgrades will be allowed (just so that no one is happy, huzzah to compromise!) and D class cars from 2000-2009 have been added as available options. OP will be updated with this later today. Schedule will be drawn up at the end of next week after I get back in town.
Burn it with fire.

DTM M3 is cool though. Even if not as cool as the E92 M3 GT2.
Love poking on the official forums after these come out and reading how much whining there is that every car isn't new to Forza. Delicious complaining.
The pack overall does very little for me. This is a damn shame, because that Alfa is cool, but GOD DAMN that RX-3.

Some say the C63 AMG Black never stopped spinning, on and on into eternity.
