[WOW] I guess there's an Expansion coming out this year ? Maybe ?
And if we're not getting them now (Ogres are native to Draenor like Orcs and Draenei) we're probably never getting them.
Didn't they say that they had trouble figuring out what female Ogres would look like? Be yeah I would have loved to play a two headed orge mage or warlock.
It's gonna be bizarre as fuck in Shadowmoon Valley having it not be a hellhole.
If that is going to blow your mind, you may want to not dwell on the thought of where HFP fits in on the new map...
So far for me, this seems like an expac where I'm going to like the mechanics, and probably loathe the story.
Yeah that's neat too; not surprising given the black morass and how the blasted lands used to be a swamp (which, granted, there still is some of post cataclysm).
It's weird that Zangarmarsh seems to be underwater on that map. Zangarmarsh was in WC2, prior to the world blowing up, so it should still be there as a visitable place.
Lore wise, I just can't get excited about killing off the HEROES of the Horde. I know it's in the past or an alternate time line or whatever, but really?
my alliance characters will be all
"kill em' all, blood for the blood god!" ^^

I think the main problem was figuring out what they brought to the Horde that was unique. There's not much they can bring in that isn't going to overlap thematically with the Orcs and Tauren.

Didn't stop them with Dwarves and Gnomes for Alliance.
You know what? This is all Taran Zhu's fault. If he just let Varian cut off Garrosh's head/Thrall smash Garrosh's head, this would never have happened.
The end of this expansion is going to spill over into the next one. Many more expansions are lined up now.
For some reason I read this as "nope, no demons in this xpack!"
Actually one of the zones in the expac blurb mentions a demonic threat.
I prefer to think of what happened as the demons showed up, thought they were going to "trick" the orcs like they did in the original storyline, only to see what Garrosh had already done and said "waaaaaaait a minute, gonna have to rethink this"
we're also extending our Flexible Raid scaling technology to Normal difficulty raiding. We’ll have more details to share as development continues.
bam, 10 man and 25 man normal dead, flexible now
quite sure some people called this happening when they annouced flex
Oh man this is going to fuck up HM raiding, with guilds not needing to have exact numbers for normal then suddenly with HM "sorry, you 5 are benched because we can't fill a 25!".

I dunno, I still think the demons are behind this. They have more to gain from letting a united horde fuck over azeroth and then coming in and taking out that horde without any of the other races to help.
EDIT: Though, if they want to be really twisty, Wrathion was hell bent on creating one unified force to fight off the oncoming demons, this could be his way of doing it.

yep, they took how dumb that was, multiplied it by ten and said "let's make this the whole expansion"
So the question now is, how far away from release are we realistically?
April? Can they turn it around that fast? June?
unless they substantially accelerate their beta cycle compared to what they did for cata/MoP, we won't see it before summer. They announced MoP at blizzcon 2011, started the press/F&F beta the following march, then released in september. Supposedly they're trying to start releasing expansions faster than they have in the past, but having it out in the first half of next year still seems super fast.
Although, I don't know how afraid they really need to be about releasing during traditional off-peak times of year, so maybe they'll just do a faster beta and release it whenever it's ready.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Hey, we can't help it that we're that awesome. It's our burden to bear.
Edit: I...don't really know how I feel about this. I'm excited for a bunch of different things (garrisons, cool trailer makes it look cool), but disappointed about other things (rehashing outland with time travel...). Disacitement?

I have no problems with this. I hope they fuck off with the stupid fucking Flex/LFR loot system though. Can't stand that shit.
The problem is they're on record as more or less being in love with flex/lfr loot; they're more likely to extend that to LFD and normal raiding than they are removing them from current content.
Ugh. They know people have problems with it and Normal/Heroics are a nice alternative. If every single loot system becomes LFR/Flex style, that'd just be fucking horrible.
Garrison are going to be like the ships in SWTOR...and that is delightful news. Bliz might be getting me interested in their vision for this game again (full disclosure: left right around 4.3 and one month of MoP earlier this year didn't convince me to stick around.)

I'm thinking that they will leave themselves some flexibility to mess with WILDSTAR's release date, too.
"WILDSTAR, the hotshot new MMO, coming to stores on May 30 !"
"Oh yeah, funny thing, we'll be releasing the next WOW expansion May 23."
So... will Outland still exist, or is this a Cata-style permanent replacement for it?
I can't imagine they're going to remove it. If anything I hope they just touch things up a bit (nothing cata level) to play into this xpack.
Draenor is just going to be an alternate reality thingy. I imagine there'll be a portal somewhere you have to hop through to get there and back to the 'real' world.

They're talking now about the ogre empire in one of the big zones is going to be around. Didn't catch what zone it was specifically.

Well, it depends if you count pre-patch events or not.
In general, I would say yes.
That and Orc lore...I really like Orc lore.
Pins!
Outland will still exist as 60-70 content, Draenor is 90-100 content.
