I wish to know what exactly what this is!
Welcome, friend! This is an online version of the popular party game "Mafia." On these forums we call it "Phalla", but the general concepts are the same!

And does this "Phalla" have a particular theme?
Yes, sort of. This game is structured around the inability for villagers to communicate outside of drawings. I'm interested in seeing how people adapt to this never-before-seen restriction. Because this will result in a very different style of game than most people are used to, this is going to be a very vanilla game. If this works, I might run a game that's more complicated with the same restrictions. We'll... see how that works.
This is a game for about 20 people, although we could run it smaller if necessary.

Are there any special rules for this Phalla?
There are several rules in place for this game.
The most important rule, and focus of the game, is thus: You are only allowed to communicate through images.
Here are the specifics:
These images must be drawn solely by you. Do not photoshop any other images or pictures into your image. Do not get someone else to draw your image for you.
Some of you are terrible artists. Some of you are excellent artists. That's part of the fun. Just go with it. The whole point of the game is to try to decipher something from seemingly random scribbles.
The format of the drawing does not matter. You can draw it in MS Paint, draw it on a tablet, draw it on paper and scan it onto your computer, whatever. You may host the image on whatever site you please, although it should be visible to everybody, regardless of country or circumstance (that means don't upload your stuff to a porn site!)
The only text you are ever allowed to post is your vote. This does not include reasoning for your vote. That goes in your drawing. I'm saying you are allowed to post "kime." That is all.
You are not allowed to include any text in your image. Even if you draw the text. Even if you have a really good idea that's very hard to express as an image. No text.
The only out-of-thread communication allowed is through the role PM you receive. You may use this role PM to submit orders or ask for clarification. Other than this, no PMs, no IRC chats, no personal talks with people you see in real life. All communication is in-thread, through images. The mafia are exempt from this rule.
Failure to follow the rules will result in a warning. Subsequent failure will result in unconditional removal from the game.

Agreeing/awesomeing/broing posts, I assume that should be avoided?
Reactions are allowed. Man, what a silly thing to ask. Of course they're allowed.
Also is having a single ghost post still allowed? Does that have to be in pictures too?
You are allowed one ghost picture. Same rules regarding text and photoshopping as normal. This drawing should be your magnum opus.

You are allowed to use references. After all, even your imagination is just an internally generated reference.
Another question I missed earlier:
Gifs are not allowed, although you can post a series of images as long as you make all of them from scratch.
I don't want to break the spirit of the rules for this game so I want to make sure about stuff. Are any of the following allowed?
- Charts
- Graphs
- Phoentic Picture Messages (think eye + heart + drawing of ego's avatar)
Basically, is the spirit of the rule of the game that you want us to draw pictures that abstractly describe something (idea/feeling/concept) as opposed to finding ways to use pictures to simulate language?
I fully expect a simple language to form after a couple of days. The spirit of the game is really to figure out how to convey your opinions through images. The opinions need not be entirely abstract.
That said, you may use any of the above formats, although remember that you may not have any text as a part of your charts or graphs, and you'll have to draw any axes/columns yourself.

What happens in the event of a tie?
What is the order of actions? Does Vote trump all?

Start with a blank medium.
If you are on an electronic device, you must be able to create the drawing without exiting the program.
If you are on physical paper, you must be able to create the drawing yourself.
References are allowed because they physically exist, and so you are able to see it without exiting the program.
Photoshopping is not because it is impossible for you to take a piece of another drawing without exiting the program.

ASCII art is a bit of a tricky subject. As clearly stated in the name, it is still a form of art. It's also quite difficult to do without an ASCII converter, which is obviously disallowed.
However, it is not something that is created "from scratch". You are using predefined characters to use your art. Additionally, it is made out of text, which is explicitly forbidden.
I'll open the subject to discussion. What do the players think?

Yes to awesome/agree/bro because I don't want to have to draw a picture every time I agree with something and it could easily lead to people creating one picture for agree and then just posting that over and over again in response which can get spammy
Granted, I'll draw badly without it instead otherwise.

I really think you should rethink this.
awesome/agree/broing pictures does allow people to express opinion on the art, but it hardly allows it to be an actual form of communication.
Why?
Because there is no way to tell if they are actually agreeing with the message you are trying to get across in the art. I mean, you could think they are agreeing with the message, but who knows if they actually understand what you are trying to say. Or if they are awesoming the attempt at art or the concept trying to be conveyed in the art. Same goes for broing which is already a very ambiguous reaction.
Additionally, if we have to draw a picture every time we agree with something, its gonna lead to some serious spamming of the same agree picture over and over OR prevent people from wanting to actually communicate that they want to express agreeance with a picture since the effort of coming up with an agree picture is more effort than its worth to get across such a simple message.
Basically, I really really think agree/awesome/bro should be allowed in the game BUT its your game and your decision and I'm cool with what you ultimately decide.
