it's nvidia geforce experience. i believe it's for all nvidia gtx 600 and 700 series cards. it is the control panel for a few nvidia utilities, but the main attractions are: it manages your drivers for you and it also manages settings. it tracks all the games you let it see and tells you the optimal settings for each- and you can just hit one button and it will auto-change all of your settings to the optimal ones (or you can use a performance vs quality slider if you prefer higher fps).
and yeah i picked up tomb raider for 8 bux during the last steam sale

The same tool also allows for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Shadowplay which is pretty rad, it is basically the nextgen videogame DVR features. Its footprint is pretty low (hardware chip feature), and they've been iterating the product pretty fast (For instance it now allows you to enable your own mic in/out)
I only did test stuff, but it is pretty great for 'videogame just had hilarious bug' / 'watch this sick move I pulled off'

I got Starbound last week, played it a bit and didn't think it was bad at all...but I think I'll wait for a much more polished / refined version (and assurance my progress won't get wiped) before playing much more.
Rogue Legacy has me right now. I've finally gotten to the tipping point where I don't feel like I'm made of glass or dying constantly...and I'm waiting for the Winter Sale to get KSP which I have a feeling will be my next addiction.
Wasteland 2 looks awesome, but I'm not in any rush at $60 for another early access game...I'll probably hold off for a finished / polished version (and a sale).
