Penny Arcade is a webcomic site. Checkpoint, Extra Credits, and everything else on PATV where just "value adds." If you don't care about the webcomic, then yeah, there's no reason to visit Penny Arcade anymore.
Aha, Penny Arcade is also a business and I'd wager these shows brought a lot of people to the site, culling your potential customer base doesn't seem like a very wise move.
And so Extra Credits continues its journey from site to site, putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that the next leap...will be the leap home.
