New emoticon criteria

I'm just posting this here since it was in the SE++ questions forum and seemed like a global question.

What makes an emoticon worth coding?

Is it alpha's personal preference or is it when a phenomenally great emoticon like winky comes along?

Susie has thrown out the idea for an angel emoticon which seems proper given that we have 2 "devil" emoticons.

Perhaps we could take out sad because cry pretty much = sad

I hardly ever see :!: or :?: used but that's just me

arrow was losing it for awhile until Riotcow gave it a triumphant comeback.

    The devil emotes exist solely as an early warning system for complete tools. It makes modding easier, because people who use them flag themselves as such. Therefore, they do not provide precedent for angel emotes.
