Hi everyone!
This year, PAX East is the second weekend of April. That Friday night (April 11th), the plan is for a bunch of us to grab dinner and drinks somewhere in downtown Boston or Cambridge. The exact restaurant isn't yet determined, but here is what is solid:
-it'll be a semi-fancy affair. Not everyone has formal clothing or can manage to travel with it, for certain values of formal, but the hope is for everyone to dress as classily as they can manage. I know it's a weekend of walking and standing and comfortable shoes- but we've been doing this thing for a few years and a bunch of us really, really enjoy the interlude of quality and class amongst all the sweating, bumping against people, cat ears, Majin Buu tshirts, etc. Please, if you can, try and shoot for no denim, no tshirts, etc.
-while I've met a bunch of great people through this event, this year it is going to be for people I know (personally or through someone I know). There are a few reasons for this. Not only do we want this to be a night for friends to see one another and reconnect- but we usually have a prix fixe menu, sometimes an immovable head count etc. We've had people back out before (which, no hard feelings- life happens). I think the best way to keep this friendly and financially stress free is to disallow lurkers. Sorry, y'all! Feel free to hang out at some other point during the weekend when money and planning aren't involved.
-I try and make sure every year that there's a vegetarian option. Beyond that, I am gonna go with what looks good to me because direct democracy was a time consuming shitstorm last year. I promise I have good taste, y'all. I love sugar free gummy bears.
The plan right now (tentatively) is for Abigail's (the same venue as last year). If you have alternative ideas, feel free to propose them. I reserve the right to ignore them, though. Because I am God King and all that.

The dinner will be at Marliave at 10 Bosworth Street, Boston, MA 02113. It's about a 25 minute walk from the convention center and only about a 10 minute walk from most of the downtown hotels near the riverfront.
The cost is 55pp. I feel compelled to mention here that tax and gratuity should be considered as well. If you're gonna dip out early, please consider your total cost (which if I'm doing my math right is just about sixty eight dollars, assuming you have a dry night). I know this price is a little bit higher than in previous years- sorry. I didn't choose any menu items with a supplement price, or anything. Food cost is just going up, I guess.
For your money, you will get (in addition to the legal, contractual right slash obligation to put your hands all over my sumptuous curves):
Appetizer (choice of one):
- Henry' Soup: French onion, Gruyere, Short rib, Crouton
- Macaroni and Cheese: House cut ziti, Black Truffle, Farmhouse cheeses, cream
Entree (choice of one):
- Beef Tenderloin: Pan roasted, Parmesan risotto, Wilted spinach, Red wine sauce
- Scallops: Seared, Whipped potatoes, Wild mushrooms
- Risotto: Wild mushrooms, Black truffle, Herbs, reggiano
Dessert (choice of one):
- Chocolate Cake: Warm melting center, Chocolate sauce, Vanilla ice cream
- Ice Cream Trio: Chef's choice of house churned ice creams

Do me a favor and please let me know for sure whether you can make it asap. Technically we can make little changes up to a few days out, but it'd be significantly better for peace of mind (especially given there's a signed contract and a credit card on file!) to know what we're dealing with as soon as possible.
