What was this 90s PC game?

I'm trying to remember an old PC game. It was kind of a point-and-click adventure from sometime in the mid 90s. I never got very far in it, so I can't tell you much about the story. What I do remember is that you get to pick three characters from some kind of paranormal (?) investigative agency to go investigate whatever the story was about. Each character had special abilities, so your choice of which three you wanted on your team for the game affected pretty much how the entire game played out. The characters include a woman in a robot suit, a vampire who can turn to smoke, a thief who can pick-pocket NPCs, a scientist who can build stuff out of the random things you pick up, and maybe three others I cannot recall.

One of the first missions included going into a police station and slipping past the cop sitting at the front desk so you can snoop around. The thief could steal the cop's gun, the vampire couldn't get through because if you turned to smoke the cop would turn on a fan, and the scientist could pick up random stuff and make a smoke bomb and scare the cop away. That's about as far as I ever got in the game.

Does that ring any bells to anyone?

I've never played that game but from your description I think Yahtzee mentioned it in an episode of Zero Punctuation about a game with a similar "three-out-of-n-characters" mechanic, but the name isn't coming to me...
