and a partridge in a pear tree
a moving the fuck out of here
The vultures here at work are pretty playful as well. I see them all the time zooming and zipping about on updrafts and shit, then they all get cozy together on top of the reactor buildings at night. I don't know how many of them there are at any given moment, maybe about 50-100?
Meh, that's boring.
I'd have called it.... A suspense of spiders.
I like "a bounty of bugs"
yeah
most of the poetic names were given to birds
I'm pretty sure that the majority of them were invented by an 18th century monk
just one guy who really liked birds and decided he was going to come up with all these ludicrous nouns of assemblage for them and they've stuck just because they're so whimsical
a windage of farts
there isn't an agreed-upon term
but if we're going to make them up (and why wouldn't we) then we should probably have two--one for if we're talking about more than one bug of the same species, and one for if there are bugs from multiple species (like fish and fishes, respectively)
I like bounty
I would also suggest "bevy"
or "grip"
I suggest an "OHHOLYSHITGETTHEMAWAYFROMME" of bugs
Yeah I made that word up so what.
I never expected this from you of all people
I'm just kidding, bro
you know I love bugs
it's definitely not stockholm syndrome either, nope
because we are in bug country and there's no turning back
Guys did you know that in early spring the bombus bombus sleeps inside crocus flowers because the petals close at night and protect it from the frost? Bee facts.
Man I could do this all day. I wish this was my job.
I thought there was no stopping, not no turning around
a lightness of lacewings
a rustling of walkingsticks
a fury of fire ants
right?!
fuckin' monks, dude
there's no anything but the pure and unadulterated love of insectkind
a labor of leafcutter ants
Going to bed now.
