To stop this problem I disabled display scaling on high DPI setting in steam properties, configurations. The game now runs fine in 1080 and no more flickering!
Problem is this is literally all the guy said. Does anyone know how to do this?
Hmmm is durasteel armour the end of that tech tree? I don't see any better armour and I have found anything non cosmetic out in the wild
I think the armors after durasteel have to be crafted at the accelerator/manipulator/separator tables
Yeah, you'll need to build those at the architect table.
I have all three of the specialized replicators.
But...is gold/silver/titanium armor just not craftable anymore? I see random vendors selling them but still...
Also is it just me or does Steam cloud flat out not work for this even though it's enabled?
Those armors can be found in the wild in chests or sold by merchants, but are no longer craftable. Same goes for drills, though if I remember correctly the Ursa Miner shop in the outpost starts to sell drills as you complete story missions.

They also seem to be mostly decorative as well, for the armors.

How do I make pixels? The south I'm slimy isn't bring in the Benjamin's like I'd like
Normally I just explored planets and looted chests and sold all of the weapon and cosmetic armors I found. I also had a farm going, though to really make money farming you gotta have a big operation. Once you unlock the sprinkler it really speeds things up because then you don't have to manually water every fucking plant yourself. You can just afk while the crops grow, or go explore other planets, then check on your crops later and sell em.

Oh yeah, they suck. I was just curious. It seems like a bizarre design decision to me.

I've got a major farm operation on a ocean world round a temperate star. Built from island to island giant brick bridges and then put 2 deep soil on top of those. Rains every in game day it seems. Had to bring the soil in from a non ocean planet but that was really just stuff I'd have scrapped from mining anyway. Brick seems to be the easiest way to build them as well, fire clay and turn into masses of brick really quickly.

Ive done something similar. Big farm on an ocean world. Its 3 or 4 screens wide and i set up multiple levels that are almost a screen height apart, not quite.
The spacing means that rain affects all layers. You just need to be about 1 screen below the lowest layer and they will all get rain and the soil will be wet. I virtually never water my plants.
Also im pretty sure you dont need as much vertical space as ive used - just open background. If you go far enough below your crops with your character while it is raining, your crops will get watered.
I'm assuming that everyone on the same server needs the same mods, but what happens if you dont?
like if the guy playing on the computer with the server on it has mods and others dont, and vice versa.
As far as I know, everyone has to have the same mods as whoever is hosting.
Unrelated, but the number of tenants in my colony slum causing framerate loss is really annoying. I've been considering bulldozing everything and starting over. Maybe I'll space everything apart this time and actually try to make things look pretty. And add a skyrail system to get places faster too.

I really hope quest modding becomes a thing.
The story dungeons in this game are pretty simple stuff but I enjoy them. Wouldn't mind a couple hundred more of them once I'm done.
I swear there used to be a biome with lots of dye flowers. I can't find them anymore.
Check forest planets, or sometimes jungle ones. I believe they can both have the flower sub-biome, and one or both of them can also have the giant flower biome which has dye flowers as well (if I'm remembering correctly)

Giant flower biomes don't seem to have any more dye flowers than usual. Possibly less, hard to tell. They are very disappointing in that respect.
The background wall blocks I am using for a lot of my construction require brown dye, so I am burning through petals real fast.

Then you'll want to check forest planets for the spring sub-biome. It's got shitloads of the smaller flowers
I lost my absolutely favorite gun. I am not sure what happened...I was dying a bunch of times trying to finish a quest, running between checkpoints. I'm assuming I hit "Q" (the drop button) at some point, but didn't notice. Now I can't even find it. I'm so bummed.
I don't remember the name because the names of guns are generic portmanteaus so I tried restoring a backup save and I can't do that either. Any ideas? The game seems to keep overwriting my save despite me replacing the /Player/ directory wholesale with an older version.
I also disabled Steam Cloud even though that doesn't seem to be working anyway (it tells me 0 bytes are stored for Starbound on the cloud). Even with Steam Cloud disabled, my newest progress keeps coming up when I load the game.

That happened to me too. Man I hate playing with a keyboard
I was horrified when i saw that gun in action. Just ARRRRGH.
Side note, the end-tier crafted Staff is really good. The main attack hits like... well, a bunch of flying psychic swords, and it's alt-fire can be used to imprison things, block choke points, or even just as a temporary platform to climb on. Really good.
@MuddBudd Thank you SO MUCH! I couldn't get an exact duplicated (DPS-wise, the one I spawned is slightly higher which I can live with), but it's the same type/style/etc (exactly like the one I had with a few points in higher damage) and I feel so much better now. Thank you.
It gave me the syntax I needed to spawn in a rare assault rifle with electric damage and the grenade launcher alt ability, which matches the gun I lost.
Anyone have any idea why the paint mode isn't really working? It work for like 80% of stuff, but like if I'm painting a brick wall most of the wall will change color, but certain parts give me the same sound you get when using your MM in a story mission and it won't work.

Plus I got a ton of healing water which is always useful.

I guess that's why.

I know it was a rare assault rifle. So what would I do, spawn rare assault rifles until the one I had pops up?
edit: Thanks

It's amazing.
P.S. /spawngun no longer works as of Glad Giraffe (you can just use /spawnitem for guns instead), but I found this amazing writeup: https://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/3wnxwo/spawning_items_ingame_with_any_specs_and_looks/

I wish I could disable the Q key.
Really? Why?
Honestly, you do not seem to be living up to your name, Dr. Chaos.
How?
Can I unbind it completely?
