The promos are all fairly decent - red just wins out because both of its on-color gods and represented color pairs are very playable

@Kelor how great has nykthos been for you in that deck? I'm hesitant to run it in multicolor decks, though I suppose the minotaur one is just red splashing black

Man I don't like any of those promos

The blue one is straight up bad and the black one is maybe possibly okay but I don't like it

    Red it is I guess

the opponent has to be playing green or white to really take advantage of that, and while maybe common, there isn't a TON of removal for enchantments because of it being an enchantment block

well maybe I'll pick blue then

but only to show how bad that promo is

and get an ever so slightly weighted shot at phenax

It opens a card up to enchantment hate , this is true, it also opens that same card up to being played for 0 mana and giving you basically an extra drawn card.

If it was a mistake to print they'll ban it. If it wasn't, it could easily show up in a future supplemental product.

Yeah dude. "Is now an important card in legacy" is not the same as a mistake.

There have been plenty of cards printed that are mistakes that weren't banned. Geist of St. Traft, Lingering Souls, Tarmogoyf, Dismember, Kiki-Jiki etc. These cards won't be banned because they make up a "healthy" portion of the metagame, but they sure aren't fair cards by any stretch of the imagination and warp(ed) at least one format for quite some time.

...but its a permanent you get for free? Who cares if it gets destroyed - in that absolute worst case they enchantment remove it instantly you're still up a card on them.

If I make it to a prerelease, I really want to play blue for the Arbiter (and a shiny version, too!) but I also really want to go red since the Forgestoker is pretty solid and the seeded pack could get Mogis or Xenagos...And getting decent red in Theros would be pretty solid.

I refuse to feel sorry for anything bad that happened to someone who pulls a foil Elspeth, Brimaz, and Thassa in their pool.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to open some off-color scry-lands, a Mindreaver, Meletis Charlatan, and a Colossus of Akros.

I have made good use of Colossus in a draft with multiple Karametra's Acolytes (it helps that no one wants to take Colossus), even managed to activate it a few times. The only match I lost was against a B/W Returned Centaur mill deck (guy had at least 5 of them), so it got milled both games. I even had the mana for it too..

that said, I can't see ever playing it in sealed without getting crazy lucky with lots of green and a Nykthos or something.

    AND

Cogwork Librarian 4 Artifact Creature Construct

Draft Cogwork Librarian face up. As you draft a card, you may draft an additional card from that booster pack. If you do, put Cogwork Librarian into that booster pack.

I would say not an unset, but a cube set. Why have a rule that affects draft if they're only going to be drafted once? Cube product.

Edit: Cube then multiplayer games! Whaaat!

Store in the phillipines did a prerelease, someone pulled that. Card had a phone number on the back which spit out a code. Code translated into the card text for Cogwork Librarian. SA good forum for news.

I don't understand those cards at all.

The clockwork one particularly. A card that has mechanics in DRAFT? Like the actual drafting? Has that ever happened before because it just seems weird?

cards designed to make a specific (if unsanctioned) format more dynamic

like all the commanders created just for commander

I'm with the people betting they're designed for cube drafting

I wouldn't mind if they made cube a bigger thing.

I mean, I don't even have the hope of a group to play a cube with, but I still like it.
